Toronto (ON), Canada - February 3, 2011 -- Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of LinkOptimizer 4.5.4, a maintenance update to its popular workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Awarded 4 out of 5 stars by Computer Arts magazine, LinkOptimizer automates complex image manipulation tasks, significantly reducing InDesign job size, saving processing time and reducing production costs.

The new update adds the ability to save TIFF images with ZIP and JPEG compression, helping users save additional disk space and fine-tune their conversion options. LinkOptimizer now also ignores images linked to database storage and addresses some other stability and performance issues.

"LinkOptimizer makes me extremely happy!", says Nynke Tiekstra, the owner of design studio ColtsfootMedia in Friesland, Netherlands, "It converted 10000 images in a 1800 pages project saving us at least 40 hours work, and it proved to be 100% accurate."

LinkOptimizer is designed to meet the needs of ad agencies, prepress bureaus, printers and publishing houses for both print and electronic publishing. In the core of LinkOptimizer functionality is its ability to reduce the linked image size by eliminating excess image data.  LinkOptimizer reduces the image resolution, scales and crops the images in Photoshop according to their dimensions in InDesign and the target resolution specified, and reimports them to InDesign at 100%.

In addition, LinkOptimizer can automate the following tasks:
-Convert image colors using Photoshop defaults or specific ICC profile
-Apply sharpening filters
-Flatten image, merge layers and delete unused ones
-Convert image formats
-Run Photoshop actions during processing

As a result, users can save gigabytes of disk space and countless hours of optimizing images manually, accelerate document output, reduce job turnaround and cut costs through faster processing. LinkOptimizer also lets users back up images before processing or work with their copies, duplicate the original InDesign document, and convert images without relinking to InDesign.

Pricing and Availability:
LinkOptimizer 4.5 can be purchased from the Zevrix Solutions web site, www.zevrix.com, for US$259.95 as well as from authorized resellers. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 4.x users and $98.78 from previous versions. Trial is also available for download, as well as a Light version. LinkOptimizer is available for Mac OS X 10.4.2-10.6, a Universal Binary, and works with Adobe InDesign CS2-CS5.
