Toulon, France, May 30, 2011 -- The ISHEID AIDS 2012 conference announced that the focus will be on topics such as understanding the survival and maintenance mechanisms of HIV, attempting to develop a permanent cure. The worldwide socio-economic and human rights aspects, which can influence the fight against HIV. In spite of the increasing number of AIDS awareness programs, the number of people contracting the infection has been on a constant rise. With over 2.6 million new infections being reported every year, it has been evident that public awareness programs conducted by private institutions as well as governments have not been successful due to the reforms required at scientific, societal and human levels.
