Chef
Binkley has now decided to go back to basics (and get back to the
kitchen) by bringing an entirely new concept to the Phoenix Valley in
October 2016.
Phoenix,
AZ, USA -- "I didn't get into this business because I love
business," says Binkley, who's been a finalist for the
prestigious James Beard Best Chef Southwest award for five straight
years. "I want to cook food, and the more locations we have, the
less I get to do that, and that's not OK."
A
trained chef that has worked at 2 of the top 13 restaurants in the
United States and has been nominated by the James Beard Foundation 5
years running - has gone from owning one award-winning restaurant in
Arizona in 2004 to owning four restaurants by 2013. Chef Binkley has
now decided to go back to basics (and get back to the kitchen) by
bringing an entirely new concept to the Phoenix Valley in October
2016. Located in his previous restaurant Bink's Midtown - the
restaurant is a converted house built in 1928. The dining experience
will take guests through different sections of the house - anywhere
from the patio, communal dining at the bar, or your own table in the
main dining room. The walls will be knocked down between dining room
and kitchen and the chefs' will be delivering the courses and
explaining the dishes along the way to guests and asking for instant
feedback.
Chef
Binkley is known for pushing the boundaries of gastronomic innovation
and highlighting the bounty of local, artisanal and house-made
ingredients. The restaurant will only be open 4 days a week,
Thursdays and Sundays will have one seating and Fridays/Saturdays
will have 2 seating's. An estimated 20 people per seating will be
available and staff will be cut down to the minimum. Only one tasting
menu will be available with limited substitutions available.
Not
only is this story one for a chef re-inventing himself to push more
culinary boundaries - but changing the game in Phoenix with an
entirely new concept.
