ISOLUTE® Myco SPE Columns, a Dedicated Product for The Efficient Extraction of Mycotoxins from Food Matrices

Biotage has announced the launch of ISOLUTE® Myco SPE columns, a new product for the 'catch and release' clean up of mycotoxins from food matrices, prior to analysis by LC-MS/MS.

Uppsala, Sweden, April 16, 2013 -- Biotage (STO: BIOT), a leading global supplier of solutions and technology for analytical, medicinal and peptide chemistry, has announced the launch of ISOLUTE® Myco SPE columns, a new product for the 'catch and release' clean up of mycotoxins from food matrices, prior to analysis by LC-MS/MS.

The ISOLUTE® Myco sorbent is a proprietary polymeric phase (patent pending) optimized for the extraction of a broad spectrum of mycotoxins from a wide range of foodstuffs; enabling chemists to utilize a single SPE product to extract all relevant mycotoxins from an individual foodstuff. Using a single, easy to use sample preparation product, along with optimized matrix specific application notes, scientists can prepare diverse samples for analysis by LC-MS/MS.

ISOLUTE® Myco SPE columns have been developed for use together with LC-MS/MS analysis, their selective clean up enables robust, reliable quantitation of mycotoxins without compromising analytical data quality. The coupling of a dedicated polymer based sorbent with LC-MS/MS analysis saves both time and money as more samples can be processed each day compared to IAC based clean up. The tabless 3 mL format of the ISOLUTE® Myco columns is suitable for a variety of processing equipment including vacuum manifolds, positive pressure manifolds and automated SPE workstations.

"ISOLUTE® Myco SPE columns are a real step forward in mycotoxin sample preparation, helping scientists to fully exploit the advantages of higher productivity and highly selective LC-MS/MS analysis through the use of a truly optimized sample preparation regime" says Dr. Claire Desbrow, Global Product Manager.

Don Jacobson Announced as Featured Artist by Art Gallery

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery (LST) is pleased to announce that fine art photographer; Don Jacobson is now the gallery's featured artist.

Jupiter, Florida, USA (April 16, 2013) -- Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery (LST) is pleased to announce that fine art photographer; Don Jacobson is now the gallery's featured artist. Don has participated in many of the gallery's past art competitions and he has placed in every art exhibition that he competed in!

The world of photography and the world of the natural wonders of the Sierra Nevada opened to Don Jacobson simultaneously. The photographs he took with his little Kodak Brownie were woefully inadequate to express the grandeur of the Range of Light. Within a week of his first backpack trip into the high country, he bought his first SLR, a Pentax Spotmatic and began to take photography classes.

Don's degree is in electrical engineering and he worked in that field for three years. Working for the defense industry became more of a contradiction with his political views initiating a search for a desperately needed a creative outlet. For the next twenty-eight years he worked as a glassblower. His work was shown in galleries across the United States, and the Corning Museum included a piece of his in their 1986 collection of 200 international glassblowers. Although glassblowing was his "day job," he continued to practice the art of photography, studying photography with Edmund Teske at UCLA for a year. The two different mediums are connected by light. The magic of glass is in its ability to transmit and reflect light while photography is the capturing of light.

Don states this about his art and photography, "I see the world differently now. The camera, which narrows the field of vision, has actually expanded my vision. When I realized I was viewing reality as if it were a series of photographs, I initially questioned that perspective. Now, I know my perception is enhanced and enriched from my pursuit of photography. An already dynamic and interesting world has become more so." Don's work can be found at

"This is a great opportunity for the local community and members of the news media to attend and watch this major project commence. Over the next year, there are going to be some significant changes made to the site that will transform and enhance Confusion Corner overall."

The Imperial Properties team has been working on the development project for the past months, and now that warmer weather is on its way, the company is eager begin the demolition and construction process.

The Landmark Office Tower will be a first-class commercial structure featuring large windows, an open and customizable floor plan, modern mechanical systems and onsite property management. It is located at the highest traffic count intersection of Winnipeg, where traffic counts average more than 91,100 vehicles per day. It is the key connection point to the City Center, Osborne and Corydon Village.

Already leased are the main retail floor-to a national restaurant chain-and one office floor, which a business center operator will occupy. This leaves three floors and 18,120 total square feet available which are ideal for professional or medical office use.

"This will be a state-of-the-art office building, and there is still plenty of space with ground and underground parking available for business tenants to claim," Schulz said. "We do expect this space to lease up quickly, so we encourage all interested parties to inquire soon. The amenities of the new building, combined with its outstanding landmark location, are sure to give tenants some wonderful opportunities for success."

Wednesday's demolition will also provide media members with the opportunity to take "before" photos of the current structure, and then track the effort's progress in the upcoming months.
