Richman Signature Properties and Laurel & Wolf Unveil 2017 Trends for Apartment Interior Design

Designed Model Homes at Aurora in Tampa and Parc at White Rock in Dallas Offer Glimpse Into Trends, Including Individualism, Simplicity, Refuge From Tech.

Greenwich, CT, USA -- Today's millennials and Gen Xers are forgoing home ownership and flocking toward apartment rentals in record numbers. And while they're doing so by choice to maintain their flexible lifestyles in live-work-play environments, they are not willing to sacrifice on style. Historically, apartment communities have shied away from allowing residents to individualize their apartments through painting and other customizations, but Richman Signature Properties, a leader in luxury rental communities with properties throughout the U.S., is doing just the opposite. In fact, the company has teamed up with leading online interior design service Laurel & Wolf to create chic interior design options curated specifically for this demographic.

"We've worked with Laurel & Wolf designers to uncover the top trends for apartments that feel like forever homes. It's all part of our mission to reimagine what rental living looks like for our residents. A major differentiator of our communities is the design flexibility each property offers, not typically found in other apartment communities that have stringent rules for decorating," said Kristen Gucwa, vice president of marketing for Richman Signature Properties. "Our partnership with Laurel & Wolf is a testament to our commitment to give our residents the opportunity to express individuality through on trend, in demand home design."

To demonstrate the trends and showcase to future residents the stylish possibilities for their new home, Laurel & Wolf has created an entirely furnished look for Richman Signature Properties' newly completed model homes at Aurora in Downtown Tampa and Parc at White Rock in Dallas.

Following are the top apartment interior design trends for 2017 from Richman Signature Properties and Laurel & Wolf, which can be implemented into any apartment home that needs a refresh.

A Shift in Bedroom Space
With an increase in the use of technology and the bustle of everyday life, renters are feeling the need to make bedrooms a sanctuary for rest and relaxation. Millennials and Gen Xers are moving their home offices and TVs out of the bedroom, and shifting to calming colors and monochromatic palettes. Additionally, articulating sconces are taking the place of traditional table lamps in the bedroom. They offer a more direct source of light, creating more peace in the space, and can be ideal for young professionals and couples with differing bed times.

Maximizing Style with Curated Colors
Millennial and Gen X renters are taking a page out of the history books and looking toward more classical color palettes for their homes. This year, we'll see a rise in popularity of pairing rich pigmented tones in dusty blues and grays with hunter green and wheat accents. Warm, calming colors will be complemented by natural textures to further tie to the need for home sanctuary.

Simplicity and Originality is a Must
When it comes to millennial renters, the big trend is 'less is more.' There's a desire to streamline spaces - to be uncluttered and less fussy than traditional design. For the pieces they do choose, millennials are open to spending a little more money if it makes their room stand out, especially from their friends.

In addition to simplicity, there is a renewed interest in original furniture pieces and mixing design styles to create a one-of-a-kind, simple yet eclectic look. Driven by the desire to be unique, we can expect millennials to purchase more antiques, vintage and one-off pieces over the mass-produced furniture makers.

Going Green (In Moderation)
Recently, Pantone released its 2017 color of the year: Greenery. Greenery is bright, lush and ideal for residents who want to bring that outdoor feel into their homes. While renters may feel more comfortable sticking with neutrals for wall colors, we'll see a rise in modern takes on plants, e.g., lush terrariums to add a splash of greenery in the home, similar to the living room model found in Richman Signature Properties' Parc at White Rock in Dallas.

"Today, millennials desire more than just a space to call home, they want to live in a place that showcases their unique tastes and draws upon their life experiences," said Leura Fine, CEO and founder of Laurel & Wolf. "So, through our partnership with Richman Signature Properties, we are proud to be able to provide residents the opportunity to create a space that truly reflects their wants and needs - a place that celebrates their individual style."

In addition to the online interior designers, Richman Signature Properties' collaboration with Laurel & Wolf provides residents with expert insights on interior design trends and a collection of on-trend paint colors selected exclusively for Richman Signature Properties' to help residents create one-of-a-kind living spaces.

Online Women's Community Opening Its Doors

BeFab Revolution is a new concept in online communities, focused exclusively on the needs of modern women age 50+. The community, which features certified experts on topics of interest to members, will be opening its doors for founding membership from January 25-February 1 only.

Portland, OR, USA -- A new concept in online communities will soon be accepting applications for membership. BeFab Revolution (http://www.befabrevolution.com), the online community for women age 50 plus, will open its doors to founding members between January 25 and February 1, 2017. Membership will be open world-wide during this period for any woman meeting the age requirements.

"This is the first community to offer members direct access to credentialed experts (doctors, authors, speakers, industry insiders) on the many topics that women over 50 care about," says BeFab Founder Gretchen Asher. "Finally, as a woman you have one reliable place where you can get real answers from a bioidentical hormone doctor, watch a webinar about re-coding your brain to achieve your dreams, and discuss what you learned about dealing with a younger boss-- all from your sofa."

Experts for the community have emerged from around the globe, providing an international and multicultural experience for members that is also unique. While currently member resources are available only in English, the community welcomes women from all over the world.

BeFab Revolution (http://www.befabrevolution.com) is already using language to change the narrative. The tagline, "We are not our mother's generation" speaks to women who live in the new millennium, who have been found to be the healthiest, wealthiest and most vibrant generation of women over 50 ever. Yet BeFab and fans believe that even now, misinformation, underhanded marketing, and the perpetuation of the classic narrative pervade society. Writes fan Deirdre, "Fabulous Gretchen! Such important work empowering these women to show up in their magnificence. I love it. So much wisdom to be shared with the world. And you are the one to facilitate that now. Yuhooo!" Deirdre, like many women, is ready to show up.

The community itself is billed partly as a celebration of how wrong the old narrative is and how important it is to find knowledge and positivity. Gretchen blogs of her own experience with a marketing executive who once told her women over 50 are irrelevant and not fabulous. "We are fabu-LOUS, not fabu-LESS" is a central tenet of the community, and there is laserfocus on loving- or learning to love- this stage of life. Writes one enthusiast on social media, "Turning 51 in April. Need all the advice I can get."

"Gaining knowledge from experts and having my questions and concerns addressed makes me feel very empowered," Gretchen notes. "In this Third Act of life, we still have so many new directions to take and opportunities to reinvent ourselves. We ARE fabulous!"

In line with the latest paradigm in self-sustaining socially-responsible business, BeFab will charge a nominal fee to cover costs. Founding membership is set at $18 per month, and the price will be locked in as long as a member remains in good standing. After February 1, membership will be closed until later this year, when membership fees will increase in accordance with the additional content available.

Founding members in this new online community concept will also get a special opportunity: Setting the tone for the community as it blossoms. This can be anything from seeding the discussions on the secret Facebook group to taking the opportunity to ask questions of the experts who present to them via webcast. "As the first members from the public, founding members will have a big say in the directions BeFab will take," says Gretchen.

New Study Indicates Monaghan Medical's Drug-Free Aerobika® Device Shows Promise for Treatment of Bronchiectasis

Syracuse, NY, USA -- Monaghan Medical Corporation (MMC) today announced that the findings of a study published in the most recent issue of Academic Radiology shows that patients with non-cystic fibrosis (CF) bronchiectasis responded favorably to airway maintenance therapy using the Aerobika® device. This latest study adds to the growing base of evidence that demonstrates Monaghan's drug-free Aerobika® device is effective for lung health maintenance.

In this latest study, researchers noted significant improvements in ventilation function for a number of bronchiectasis patients after three weeks of using the Aerobika® device. There were no adverse events related to the use of the device reported during the study.1

Bronchiectasis is a condition in which the structure and function of the airways become permanently damaged, usually as the result of infection or other condition. Patients suffering from chronic bronchiectasis typically have trouble clearing mucus from airways and suffer from a repeating pattern of airway damage, mucus buildup, and recurrent infections. The result is typically a vicious cycle of decline, resulting in reduced air exchange in the smaller airways.

There are three primary goals in the successful treatment of bronchiectasis:

1. Treat any underlying conditions and lung infections
2. Remove mucus from the lungs, and
3. Prevent complications

"This most recent study just adds to the mounting clinical evidence that our Aerobika® device is effective for patients with bronchiectasis, COPD, and related respiratory disease," said Dominic Coppolo, MBA, RRT, FAARC, Vice President Clinical Strategy and Development at Monaghan Medical. "We are always pleased to see real-world findings that demonstrate the efficacy of our Aerobika® device in clearing mucus to improve lung function in patients with chronic bronchial ailments as well as high-risk COPD patients."

Overlap between bronchiectasis and COPD

Researchers have observed overlap between bronchiectasis and other chronic airway diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Studies show that these types of patients tend to have higher rates of exacerbation and worse outcomes.1 The overlap between bronchiectasis and COPD was highlighted in a recent study presented at the 2016 CHEST annual meeting in October. Investigators found that 92.7 percent of COPD patients who had experienced more than one exacerbation in the previous 12 months also had bronchiectasis.2

The results of the study published in Academic Radiology showing effectiveness in treating bronchiectasis patients using the Aerobika® device are in line with another 2016 real-world study presented at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress. Investigators found the Aerobika® device demonstrated a clinically significant reduction in exacerbations in as little as 30 days of treatment when used as an add-on to usual COPD medications.3

About the bronchiectasis Aerobika® device study
Fifteen participants with non-CF bronchiectasis and 15 age-matched healthy volunteers underwent spirometry, plethysmography, computed tomography (CT), and hyperpolarized 3 He magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Bronchiectasis patients also completed a Six-Minute Walk Test, the St. George's Respiratory questionnaire, and Patient Evaluation Questionnaire (PEQ), and returned for a follow-up visit after three weeks of daily oscillatory positive expiratory pressure (Aerobika® device) use. Supplementary data related to this study can be found at dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.acra.2016.08.021.

About the bronchiectasis and COPD overlap study
A retrospective study of the medical records of 961 stable COPD outpatients who were followed regularly during the period 2011-2015 at least twice/year. Complete medical records were found in 855 patients who were eligible for the analysis. Results were presented at the 2016 CHEST annual meeting.

About the Aerobika® device real-world COPD study
A retrospective cohort study of the CDM hospital claims database was conducted between September 2013 and August 2015. The final study sample comprised of 810 patients; 405 received an Aerobika® device and 405 were propensity score matched. The study inclusion criteria were: ≥1 record pre-index, ≥1 record post-index, newly initiated on the Aerobika® device, ≥1 diagnosis of CB on/before index, ≥18 years old, no evidence of other PEP/OPEP anytime, with complete records. See more at: http://erj.ersjournals.com/content/48/suppl_60/PA3780

About the Aerobika® device
The Aerobika® device is hand-held, easy-to-use and drug-free. When the patient exhales through the device, intermittent resistance creates positive pressure and oscillations simultaneously, which expands the airways, helps expel the mucus to the upper airways where it can be coughed out, and may also aid in improved drug deposition. The Aerobika® device is available in Canada, Mexico, and select European countries including the UK and Germany through Trudell Medical International and in the US via Monaghan Medical Corporation. (http://www.monaghanmed.com/Aerobika-OPEP)

About Monaghan Medical Corporation (MMC, USA)
MMC offers leading aerosol drug delivery devices and respiratory management products including AeroEclipse® II BAN, AeroChamber Plus® aVHC and the Aerobika® device exclusively in the United States. MMC's strength lies in product development around core capabilities in mechanical design complimented by collaboration with a state-of-the-art aerosol research laboratory. The County will be migrating its data center operations from its own facility to T5@LA to take advantage of the infrastructure support and cost savings offered by T5's wholesale data center, as well as the potential for future expansion.

The LA County Board of Supervisors directed an assessment of options to replace the existing outdated data center with either a build, buy, or lease solution. After performing a cost analysis, the County determined that leasing a wholesale data center facility would offer greater flexibility and prove more cost effective than upgrading its current data center operation. After an extensive search, Los Angeles County selected T5@LA because of its secure environment, redundant power systems, and seismic reinforcement, as well as its strategic location. The T5@LA facility also fulfilled the County's immediate operational needs, providing a ready-to-occupy location customizable to their needs with energy and water efficient environment control systems.

"Winning the County of Los Angeles as a customer validates T5's market advantage - our wholesale data centers are more robust and cost-effective than maintaining your own data center facilities," said Aaron Wangenheim, Chief Operating Officer for T5 Data Centers. "This latest contract also demonstrates that our T5@LA facility is in the right location with the right capabilities for customers throughout the Los Angeles market who need mission-critical computing support."

Like all T5 wholesale data centers, T5@LA offers a fully customizable facility that gives customers total control over MEP technology and design. Each data suite is completely autonomous, separated by slab-to-deck, fire-rated walls for secure operations. The T5@LA data center also meets HIPAA, HITECH, and PCI regulations and provides a highly secure operating environment.

Fulham Introduces WorkHorse LED Extreme Driver Family for Outdoor and High-Power Lighting Applications

First Drivers to Feature Integrated Wireless Controls for Easy Configuration and Installation.

Hawthorne, CA, USA -- Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting components and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, has released the WorkHorse LED Extreme family of constant current, programmable drivers specifically designed for outdoor and high-power applications. WorkHorse LED Extreme drivers are intelligent, programmable LED drivers built for harsh environments.

The WorkHorse LED Extreme family is composed of two series of drivers: XP and XE. The XP Series includes the industry's first outdoor LED drivers with integrated wireless controls to simplify customization and field installation. The WorkHorse LED XE Series offers output current programming up to 5000mA. Both series are rated IP65.

The new WorkHorse LED XP Series drivers are available in five power configurations: 40W, 60W, 100W, 150W, and 200W. The high-power WorkHorse LED units have MCU controlled circuitry, including MCU controlled health monitoring that allows for black box data to be captured for field analysis. The integrated wireless versions support Tvilight's City Manager control software, a key building block for Smart Cities. The 0-10V dimming versions support dimming to 10% power. All XP Series drivers can be programmed with custom dimming curves, custom NTC thermal feedback, and power output. Tunable output power enables the drivers to be substituted into luminaires without affecting performance or lumen output.

All high-power WorkHorse LED XP Series drivers include intelligent driver over temperature protection, as well as intelligent module over temperature protection via NTC input to promote an extended useful life.

The new WorkHorse LED XE Series drivers are available in two output configurations: 96W and 185W. The drivers support 0-10V dimming and programmable output current.

All WorkHorse LED Extreme drivers are configured using a handheld programmer or PC with Fulham's SmartSet computer software. These tools address one of the primary challenges facing LED luminaire manufacturers - how to tune the driver's output current to achieve optimal efficiency and performance.

"Programmable outdoor lighting is part of Fulham's vision of a future with clever, connected, controlled lighting," said Alvaro Garcia, Product Director for LED & Emergency Drivers at Fulham. "Our new programmable WorkHorse LED drivers can be adapted for any harsh environment lighting application, including outdoor and retrofits, and since we offer the widest voltage range in the industry, our customers can stock fewer SKUs without limiting their inventory's capabilities. We see this kind of clever, programmable lighting solution claiming more market attention in the years ahead."

WorkHorse LED Extreme drivers carry an IP65 rating, 6kV or 4kV of internal surge protection and come with a five-year warranty. Products support either 347VAC or universal voltage input, for operation around the world.

These models are available from Fulham locations worldwide. For more information, visit http://www.fulham.com.
