'Hail To The Victors' Taken to New Heights in a Hot Air Balloon, by University of Michigan Music Student

Stuart Carlson Performs 'Hail To The Victors' on a Violin in a Hot Air Balloon in Michigan.

Plymouth, MI, USA -- Some people will go to great lengths to demonstrate their loyalty to the University of Michigan. Recently Stuart Carlson, a University of Michigan music student took his violin on a hot air balloon flight. Yes, that's right - a hot air balloon flight.

What did he play? 'Hail To The Victors' of course! (http://bit.ly/FBHailVictors)

According to Scott Lorenz President and Chief Pilot of Westwind Balloon Co., it started when he met Stuart Carlson at Camp Dearborn in Milford, Michigan. "I met the Carlson family who scheduled a hot air balloon ride with my company. While we waited for the wind to die down I learned a little bit about my passenger, Stuart. I found out he was a concert violinist and composer and had recently performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC."

"I am glad the winds did not cooperate for our flight because when we rescheduled," said Lorenz, "I asked Stuart to bring along his violin... and he did."

The launch took place at Island Lake State Park where the State of Michigan has provided a "Balloon Port" for local balloonists to launch their balloons. Island Lake State park boasts over 4,000 acres with miles of bike paths and the Huron River running through the park.

"Nobody forgets their first balloon flight. It is truly an experience that cannot compare to anything else," says Lorenz. "The sensation of flying over trees, lakes and streams, spotting deer and other wildlife is unique and inspiring. When an activity touches someone both emotionally and on a multi-sensory level people remember it vividly. "I think this flight will be burned into the memories of all those involved, I know I won't forget it. If you really want to make a lasting impression," says Lorenz, "a hot air balloon ride over Michigan is the ultimate 'unforgettable' gift."

Flights cost $695 for a private ride which is two passengers and the pilot. All flights are pre-paid. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover and PayPal are accepted. Gift certificates are available.

To really appreciate all the beautiful scenery Michigan has to offer, call a balloonist and schedule a flight today; the view is really better from above!

Non-Drug Device Reduces COPD Exacerbations

Real-World Study Presented at ERS 2016, London UK.

Plattsburgh, NY, USA -- Monaghan Medical Corporation (MMC) today announced results from a real-world study, evaluating the efficacy of the Aerobika® device in reducing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations. These results were presented at the European Respiratory Society International Congress in London, and are anticipated to impact the future management of COPD patients with a history of exacerbations.

Exacerbations are a worsening of symptoms and are the most common reason for COPD hospital admissions (1). During an exacerbation, airways are compromised by inflammation and mucus buildup, causing patients to be poorly responsive to usual COPD treatments (2). Recovery can be delayed for weeks, resulting in further airway deterioration and putting patients at risk of recurrent exacerbations. In fact, approximately 1 in 5 admitted patients required re-hospitalization within 30 days (3).

Clinicians, hospitals, and healthcare systems around the globe are now focusing their attention on this critical post-exacerbation period with the goal of reducing subsequent re-admissions and maintaining the long-term health of their COPD patients.

In the 6-month study, the Aerobika® device demonstrated a clinically-significant reduction in exacerbations in as little as 30 days of treatment, when used as an add-on to usual COPD medications. "These results carry important implications for how we manage COPD patients with a history of exacerbations," says Brian Carlin, MD, FCCP, FAASM. "Adding the Aerobika® device to our current COPD treatment protocols could significantly improve patient outcomes while decreasing the burden on our healthcare resources."

The Aerobika® device has been previously validated in clinical studies, demonstrating improvements in airway ventilation, lung function and quality of life. "This new study has validated the use of this device in a real-world setting, providing a drug-free addition to post-exacerbation therapy for COPD patients." says Dr. Jason Suggett, Group Director of Science & Technology at Trudell Medical International (TMI), the sister company for MMC.

About the Aerobika® device study
The study profiled here is a 6-month retrospective cohort study of the hospital Charge Detail Master (CDM) claims database, conducted between September 2013 and August 2015. This real-word study involved 810 patients, 405 receiving treatment with the Aerobika® device and 405 propensity score matched controls. The primary outcome was the proportion of patients with moderate-to-severe and severe exacerbations at 30 days. Secondary measures included resource utilization and costs associated with exacerbations.

About The Aerobika® Device
The Aerobika® device is hand-held, easy-to-use, and drug-free. When the patient exhales through the device, intermittent resistance creates positive pressure and oscillations simultaneously, which stents open the airways, mobilizes and assists in moving mucus to the upper airways where it can be coughed out. This may also aid in improved drug deposition. The Aerobika® device is available in Canada, Mexico, and select European countries including the UK and Germany through TMI and in the US via Monaghan Medical Corporation. (http://www.monaghanmed.com/Aerobika)

MMC, an affiliate of TMI, offers leading aerosol drug delivery devices and respiratory management products including AeroEclipse® II BAN, AeroChamber Plus® brand aVHC, and the Aerobika® device exclusively in the United States. Our strength lies in product development around core capabilities in mechanical design complimented by collaboration with a state-of-the-art aerosol research laboratory. We focus on developing cost-efficient, outcome-based solutions for our customers.

TMI designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of medical devices and is home to a global aerosol lab and research center. From the flagship AeroChamber® Brand of Valved Holding Chamber (VHC) and the latest award-winning Aerobika® device, to custom designed products and systems, our best-in-class respiratory management products are sold in over 110 countries. Their efficacy has been validated in hundreds of peer-reviewed articles from various medical journals.

Executive Career Solutions (UK) Introduces New Offers

Following the initial UK launch of Executive Career Solutions, the company has introduced new offers laying the foundations for a successful executive job search.

Newbury, United Kingdom -- Following the initial UK launch of Executive Career Solutions, the company has introduced new offers laying the foundations for a successful executive job search. These services are designed to help CEO, Executive and Director-level individuals begin to plan and execute next career moves.

Knowing where to start or what is required for a successful executive job search can be difficult to define. Whether this is part of a wider career planning or executive mentoring programme, Executive Career Solutions has designed relevant services laying the foundations with clear actions for enabling executives to begin making progress towards making their next career move. This is based on developing an executive CV and value proposition to make people stand out from the crowd. Getting the CV and value proposition right may often help executives and directors achieve goals much quicker by making a better impression and presenting themselves more effectively.

The idea is to get through candidate pre-selection processes with the intention of being invited to interview based on what the company is looking for. As with anything, this process is often subject to employer expectations, wider job market factors and individual job hunting approach, so interviews can never be guaranteed.

As part of a special offer, executive CV writing services (or director resume writing services) are complemented by an extended discussion, speculative covering letter version, specific covering letter version and creation of an online value proposition using LinkedIn (aligned to the CV). Bundle deals represent a good saving on normal prices, whilst giving executives everything they need before embarking on a successful job search or career move. For executives, there is the Executive CV Bundle, whilst a similar Director CV Bundle has been created for directors. ADDED executive or director-level bundle deals are designed for more complex scenarios, strong technical bias, specific requirements, career change situations or those executive resumes requiring additional attention.

Executive Career Solutions is able to manage different scenarios for executives, directors and more technical or complex situations. According to the company, such offers follow the UK launch, are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time without notice. Nonetheless, such offers represent excellent value with the idea of supporting executives and directors through initial stages of developing CV and LinkedIn propositions before applying for opportunities.

Executive Career Solutions (UK) Launched

Announcing the UK launch of Executive Career Solutions designed to help CEO, Executive and Director-level individuals plan and execute next career moves.

Newbury, United Kingdom -- Announcing the UK launch of Executive Career Solutions (http://www.executivecv.net) designed to help CEO, Executive and Director-level individuals plan and execute next career moves. As an executive career management consultancy, offers bespoke solutions covering different scenarios. For convenience, the approach is simple and streamlined. Everything revolves around an extended discussion (usually over the telephone) to understand career motivations, aspirations and current situation. The provides a useful basis for collaborating with executives to break everything down and develop a clear 'value proposition'. This helps executive customers to stand out from the competition and make an impression with employers, headhunting firms and other people within their networks, so collaboration, building a level of trust and mutual understanding is important for best results.

Significantly, each scenario is placed within the context of an executive resume to provide an important baseline for adding other career management solutions (value-added services). This creates more of an end-to-end solution using a more integrated approach and joined-up thinking towards executive careers. Solutions are tailored to individual requirements with an incremental approach allowing customers to select add-ons as an when required, subject to ordering an initial CV (resume) service. Therefore, it is important for CEO, Executive and Director-level customers to initially choose a CV (resume) option as an important first step towards achieving career success at the very highest level. Add-ons can only be selected (or agreed in advance) once the executive CV (resume) has been ordered (or completed) to deliver optimal benefits (outcomes).

The executive resume remains arguably the single most important element when screening candidates, followed by LinkedIn. It is the need for recruiters, headhunting firms and key contacts to gain initial snippets of information so they can make an informed decision about whether to invite candidates to interview. Therefore, the role of the executive resume must not be under-estimated during initial pre-selection processes. This is why the executive resume helps to provide a crucial baseline to understand the 'customer scenario' and a platform to recommend extra solutions as part of an integrated career or job hunting strategy. Nothing should be left in isolation, so Executive Career Solutions offers helps covering many different scenarios. Popular resume services include the CEO CV, Managing Director CV and the Finance Director CV.

USRoadWarriors.com Recognized at GATS Great American Trucking Show for Support of Guard and Reserve

USRW LLC announced today it received a Document of Support from the ESGR Program (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) signed by Secretary of Defense Ash Carter.

Round Rock, TX, USA -- USRW LLC, parent company of USRoadWarriors.com and VeteranDriver.com, announced today it received a Document of Support from the ESGR Program (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) signed by Secretary of Defense Ash Carter. The program, a forty-year initiative, held an event at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas Texas on Friday August 26th with about 300 people in attendance including, Major General Lester Simpson, Commanding officer of the Texas Army National Guard, who presented the recognition to 93 companies.

The ESGR Vision is to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military services of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.

"In it's (ESGR) forty-year history this is the largest group of companies anytime and anywhere to sign the Document of Support," said retired Army Col. JP Hogan leader for ESGR in Texas. The Colonel himself sported a Calvary Stetson from the early 1900's.

USRW Publisher and Co-Founder Carl Braun was on hand to receive the document. "I have two sons that served in Afghanistan and Iraq respectively, one of them is a wounded warrior. I served in the USAF Security Police and my father was a Korean War Vet. My brother, is a retired Marine. We're a military family and I'm proud to support the ESGR efforts," he said.

Braun and his company have owned numerous job boards over the last 20 years serving veterans and recently launched VeteranDriver.com, a lifestyle, careers and news site for Military Veterans, Returning Military and their families interested in or are employed by the transportation industry.

USRoadWarriors.Com Launches with Four Niche Recruitment Sites for Professional Drivers

Lifestyle, careers, news and information sites focus on building a positive image of the transportation industry.

Round Rock, TX, USA -- USRW LLC, parent company of USRoadWarriors.com, a lifestyle, careers, news and information portal for professional drivers and truckers, has announced the launch of four niche recruitment sites designed to appeal to a broad group of transportation professionals.

DriverJobCenter.com focuses on all individuals that make their living behind the wheel including local delivery drivers, OTR or "Over the Road" truckers, dump truck drivers and even corporate drivers for companies like FEDEX or UPS.

"Most trucker sites unintentionally exclude these drivers. Having just returned from the GATS Great American Trucking show in Dallas, I found that there were many large employers seeking drivers of all kinds represented at the show," noted Carl Braun, Co-Founder and Publisher of USRoadWarriors.com.

Braun has a 20-year history in the job board industry starting with his first site in 1996 called Hire-Power.com. He has since launched dozens of job boards in niche categories like diversity trucking and veterans. USRoadWarriors.com follows the trend with several sites designed to appeal to growth opportunity segments in the industry.

With only 6% of drivers being female, job board GirlsNTrucks.com appeals to perhaps the largest hiring opportunity for the transportation industry. DiverseDriver.com seeks out minority drivers and VeteranDriver.com helps connect companies with returning military and veterans, a very active segment largely due to the patriotic nature of trucking companies and the unique skills many veterans bring to their future employers.

Each of these sites provides visitors with original content and articles written specifically for women, minorities and veterans along with thousands of job opportunities with companies highly motivated to consider them.

There is currently a 73.500 driver shortage in the US and the American Trucking Association projects an 890,000 driver shortage over the next decade.

"Transportation employers are faced with tough decisions today and in the future. The average age of drivers is 52 and the market is overwhelmingly white and male. Over the next several years, many of these drivers will retire leaving a huge gap in the space. Actively recruiting women, minorities and veterans will play an important role in filling the growing needs," Braun said.

Author John Simmons Releases His New Novel - Monsieur Le 6: 2016 Presidential Election Edition

Provocative new novel features US Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Staten Island, NY, USA -- Donald Trump's presidential campaign has unwittingly resurrected a literary novel in which the fictionalized version of the candidate undergoes sex change surgery to wreak social and political havoc. Monsieur le 6, a hilarious but powerful mashup of sex and politics which could not find a publisher when author John Simmons first composed it, will debut as an eBook in time for the election (Apple River Press, $2.99).

Several characters in the novel originally bore made-up names, said Simmons, the author of several novels and works of nonfiction. "With Trump running for president, and other characters in the novel now dead, the masks can come off," said Simmons. Other roles in the satiric send-up of contemporary politics belong to former Mayor of New York Ed Koch and his Commissioner of Consumer Affairs, Bess Myerson, with appearances by George H. W. Bush, Cardinal John J. O'Connor, and Jimmy Swaggart.

Monsieur le 6 might have remained on a shelf in Simmons' closet but for the outsized and outrageous success of candidate Trump together with an unintended assist from The New York Times columnist Frank Bruni, who published an op-ed, "If Donald Trump Changed Genders," on February 27, 2016. That reminded Simmons that his fictionalized Trump instigated the novel's most outrageous conceit - genitals exchanged in high places.

As high satire, Monsieur le 6 brings the Marquis de Sade to bear on American politics. Sade, famous for his pornographic works, wrote extensively about politics. Simmons also relied on Herman Melville's famed The Confidence Man to insure an American feel and context. Today the novel's ripped-from-the-headlines content should have even greater appeal. Besides the intersection of sex and political corruption, themes include mass incarceration, abortion, urban poverty, and police brutality.

Monsieur le 6 may shock today just as it did in the early 1990s, says Simmons. "The San Francisco publisher City Lights, which had done Allen Ginsberg's Howl, wanted to publish but decided it could not. The novel acquired nice rejection letters although some agents were less than enthusiastic. One suggested that, as with Nabokov's Lolita, the novel be stored under a rock for a thousand years."
