Dmitry Konyaev, CEO of URALCHEM, OJSC (part of the URALCHEM Group), commented on the results for the 1st Half of 2011: "In the first six months of 2011 the Company significantly increased its revenues, net income and adjusted EBITDA. The net debt / EBITDA ratio comprises 1.8. Both market conditions and the results for the reporting period suggest that 2011 will be a very successful year for the URALCHEM Group."

Financial Results

Revenue in H1 2011 grew to US $ 1035 million, compared to US $ 663 million in H1 2010. Operating profit amounted to US $ 288 million, or 28% of the revenue, compared with operating profit of US $ 83 million, or 12% of the revenue in H1 2010.

In H1 2011 net profit amounted to US $ 244 million, compared with net loss of US $ 13 million in H1 2010.

In H1 2011 adjusted EBITDA reached 337 million US $ compared to US $ 137 million for the same period last year, the increase by 146%. Adjusted EBITDA margin in H1 2011 comprised 33% of revenue, compared with 21% of revenue in H1 2010.

Markets

During H1 2011 revenues from export sales increased by 65%, reaching US $ 747 million compared to the volume of export sales of US $ 452 million in H1 2010. Export sales comprised more than 70% of total sales in monetary terms. During H1 2011 revenues from sales to the domestic market amounted to US $ 247 million, compared with US $ 179 million in H1 2010.

The dynamics of the urea market in H1 2011 were significantly different from the corresponding period in 2010: the traditional market weakening in the first quarter gave way to sharp price increases that lasted throughout the second quarter and amounted to almost $ 200 / t. The main reason for the sharp rise in prices was the imbalance between strong demand from the markets in Asia, Latin America, Africa and limited supply.

The market of ammonium nitrate largely repeated the market dynamics of urea. In the first quarter minor price fluctuations were related to low volumes of trade, due to lack of available supplies, primarily in the CIS markets. In April there was a noticeable, in comparison with the first quarter, decrease of prices due to seasonal drop in demand. From May, due to increased demand in Latin America and Turkey, prices started rising again, supported by the rapid rise in urea prices.

Since the beginning of 2011 the global market of phosphorus fertilisers demonstrated stable shortage, related to decrease in supply from major sources - the U.S., China, North Africa. As a result, throughout the first half of the year there was a steady rise in prices for phosphate fertilizers, the prices in June 2011 exceed the prices in the same period last year by more than 40%.

Supported by high prices for nitrogen, phosphate and potash fertilizers, the prices for NPK fertilisers grew throughout the first half of the year.

Sales

During the first six months of 2011, sales of commercial products of the Group increased by 8.5% compared to the same period in 2010 and totaled 2.6 million tons. The considerable growth in sales was due mainly to high demand for fertilisers both in Russia and abroad. The sales volume of phosphate fertilisers increased by 29.2%, and NPK fertilisers by 24.7% in H1 2011. Sales of ammonia decreased by 8.4% due to the increase of the share of dry products.

Financial situation

Cash generated from operations (before tax and interest) in H1 2011 amounted to US $ 194 million compared to US $ 45 million in H1 2010. This largely resulted from increased revenue, which occurred as a result of significant growth in demand and prices in the fertiliser market.

On June 30, 2011 the Company's net debt amounted to US $ 1233.7 million. The weighted average interest rate in the loan portfolio during the six months of 2011 comprised 8.0% per annum compared to 9.6% in the same period last year.

By the end of the year 2011 the Company plans to reduce the net debt to US $ 1 150.0 million.

Pacific Crest Group Helps CB'a Brand Engine's Expansion By Providing Solid Back Office and Accounting Foundation

Leading Branding Agency Turns to Pacific Crest Group to Manage Bookkeeping, Payroll, and Automate Expenses and Timesheets.

LARKSPUR, Calif. (August 11, 2011) – Pacific Crest Group (http://www.pcg-services.com), the Bay Area service firm that optimizes finance, human resources, and IT so their clients can build their business, has been helping Bay Area start-ups and small businesses build the back office infrastructure they need for growth. One Sausalito branding agency, CB’a Brand Engine, has been working with Pacific Crest Group to help the company expand following its recent launch as a new joint venture of two established branding firms, and the opening of a Chicago satellite office. Thanks to Pacific Crest Group’s expert accounting and CFO-for-hire services, the launch of the newly formed CB’a Brand Engine has been smooth and seamless for its clients.

CB’a Brand Engine is a branding and design company that provides naming, product design, and packaging for a variety of consumer brands such as Hewlett-Packard, Avery Dennison and Purina. According to Will Burke, CEO of CB’a Brand Engine, when Sausalito-based Brand Engine started the new joint venture with the French branding firm CB’a Brand Ignition, they had to integrate their operations in such a way that it would not disrupt their current business. This required creating an umbrella company to centralize accounting and expenses, while not affecting billing structures for clients.

Working with Pacific Crest Group has really helped smooth our transition as we merged the two companies,” said Burke. “Their accounting professionals are sticklers for creating well-defined accounting procedures, and making sure we have the right structure in place and the right people to make sure those procedures are followed. Creating that foundation made it easier for us to manage expenses, payroll, and cash flow, and still keep things simple for our clients.”

The newly formed CB’a Brand Engine also opened a Chicago office to support a large client contract. As part of the expansion, Pacific Crest Group added new software to handle timesheets and expense reports. They also set up virtual access to accounting resources so employees from any location could access the same forms and procedures. As Burke puts it, “Now we are a single office which makes account procedures a lot easier.”

Burke also relies on TJ Van Voorhees, one of Pacific Crest Group’s founding partners, to lend his expertise to guide the firm’s growth as outsourced CFO. “We have established a level of trust with TJ,” said Burke. “He understands the goals of the business and offers expert advice on how to achieve those goals. And since he is coming in from the outside, I know we can count on him for objective, honest counsel.”

Glenmore Healthcare is the Leading Provider of hCG for Weight Loss in Calgary

Glenmore Healthcare and Wellness is the longest standing provider of safe and effective hCG for weight loss in Calgary. Since opening in December 2010, over 300 patients have lost weight utilizing the IAPAM's exclusive hCG Protocol, offered in Calgary only at Glenmore Healthcare. Worldwide, over 14,000 patients have successfully lost weight using the IAPAM's hCG Diet.

Calgary, Alberta, August 11, 2011 -- hCG has been used as a weight loss aid for over 50 years, and since being showcased on the Dr. Oz Show in February 2011, and also in Dr. Oz's interview in First for Women Magazine's June 27th, 2011 issue, it is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in the US and Canada. Patients can access this safe and effective physician-supervised weight loss program in Calgary at Glenmore Healthcare (http://www.glenmorehealthcare.com).

Glenmore Healthcare's exclusive hCG Weight Loss Program is a proven medical solution for optimal weight loss and management. Based upon the successful protocol originally developed in 1954 by Dr. Simeons, and detailed in his report, Pounds and Inches, and refined by the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (http://www.iapam.com) in 2010, the Glenmore Healthcare's hCG medically supervised weight loss program is built around a low calorie diet coupled with the administration of the pharmaceutical grade of the naturally occurring hormone, hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). Glenmore Healthcare follows the IAPAM's hCG Weight Loss Protocol, which has been administered to over 14,000 patients around the world with consistent weight loss results. The IAPAM's hCG Weight Loss Program is the only endorsed hCG weight loss protocol available to physicians.

Patients participating in the Glenmore Healthcare’s hCG for Weight Loss Program are monitored by a licensed physician who specializes in hCG for weight loss. Labs and vital statistics are recorded prior to starting the program. Patients at Glenmore Healthcare have lost as much as 20 pounds in our 26 day program, and 35 pounds in our 43 day program. At the end of the program, clinic staff test a patient’s RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) with the same equipment as used on NBC's "The Biggest Loser."

The FDA states that, “HCG is a hormone extracted from the urine of pregnant women. It is approved by the FDA for the treatment of certain problems of the male reproductive system and in stimulating ovulation in women who have had difficulty becoming pregnant. No evidence has been presented, however, to substantiate claims for HCG as a weight-loss aid.” This is absolutely true if homeopathic hCG is taken, or the entire protocol is not followed. hCG taken on its own will not result in rapid, safe weight loss. It is very important that when a patient undertakes an hCG weight loss program, that they complete it under the supervision of a physician, and strictly follow the entire detailed protocol, as is done at Glenmore Healthcare.

For more information on hCG and weight loss or to book a consultation, please contact Glenmore Healthcare at 403-452-5699 or info@glenmorehealthcare.com.

Go Fishing for Health says New Study on Benefits of Eating Fish

The Women’s Health Study found those who ate fish, like canned tuna, salmon and sardines, once per week had about 40% lower risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD) than those who did not.

New York, NY, August 10, 2011 -- Age related macular degeneration is a serious medical condition that can make it difficult or impossible to read or recognize faces. It is a major cause of visual impairment in adults aged 50 and older.

The Women’s Health Study, which included almost 40,000 female health professionals, with an average age of 55, conducted over a 10 year period, found those who ate fish, like canned tuna, salmon and sardines, once per week had about 40% lower risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD) than those who did not. Women who consumed the most EPA and DHA, the two omega-3 fats in fish, also had a 40% lower risk than those who consumed the least.

Eating just one serving of dark-meat fish per week appears to provide a plethora of health benefits and the good news is not exclusive to women,” say co-authors Dian Griesel, Ph.D. and Tom Griesel of the new book, TurboCharged: Accelerate Your Fat Burning Metabolism, Get Lean Fast and Leave Diet and Exercise Rules in the Dust (BSH, 2011). A study published in the journal Clinical Cancer Research supports their thinking. It reported that the omega3s, specific to dark meat fish like salmon and sardines, seem to be effective for cutting and even undoing the risks for men with prostate cancer. “While more research is necessary, these and other studies certainly provide circumstantial evidence that omega-3 fatty acids provide essential disease fighting and health building nutrients our bodies need,” say the Griesels.

There is a clinical trial presently underway (AREDS 2) which is specifically designed to examine the benefits of omega-3 fats and should conclusively answer the question of whether regular consumption can prevent AMD.

Importantly, there was no risk reduction found with consumption of ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), the omega-3 fat found in soy, canola and flax oils.

The Griesel’s conclude, “Fish is well-recognized as a tasty, easy to prepare and nutritious food. Regular consumption of fish has been shown to lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, macular degeneration and other significant diseases. It is definitely worth trying to eat at least 2 servings per week to obtain all the possible benefits.”

Marriage Proposal in a Hot Air Balloon - Try to Top That

There’s a creative and uplifting way some people are popping the question these days which takes the marriage proposal to new heights. Amazingly, some couples are becoming engaged while flying over the countryside in a hot air balloon. That’s right, they're popping the question in a hot air balloon.

Plymouth, MI, August 10, 2010 -- There’s a creative and uplifting way some people are popping the question these days which takes the marriage proposal to new heights. Amazingly, some couples are becoming engaged while flying over the countryside in a hot air balloon. That’s right, they're popping the question in a hot air balloon.

"Ballooning makes for an ideal engagement idea because it’s an adventure experience that touches the couple emotionally and will make a lasting impression for years to come,” says Scott Lorenz, President and Chief Pilot of Westwind Balloon Company of Plymouth, Michigan. “All of our flights are for just two people, making it a private flight; it’s just me and the couple.” says Lorenz.

It’s really one of the “coolest” ways to get engaged” say Lorenz. It’s a romantic experience for couples anyway but then there’s this added bonus as they fly over the scenery. About 20 minutes into the flight the groom-to-be gets on one knee, pulls out the ring and pops the question, “Will You Marry Me?”

I'll take a photo or shoot video of the two of them as the proposal is made. I am batting 1000% as every young lady says ‘YES,’ I guess there’s nowhere to run either!”

Then they'll update their status on Facebook right from the balloon, load a photo and send out a quick Tweet! It’s the ultimate confluence of a high tech announcement and a low tech aircraft,” says Lorenz.

A balloon flight is also a perfect anniversary celebration as a gift the couple can give to themselves. “The main reason ‘experience’ gifts are so popular is that in the end all we have are memories and the balloon ride provides a vivid and lasting memory,” adds Lorenz.

The balloon flight costs $695 for two people. Gift certificates for flights in the area over Kensington Park in Milford, Michigan can be purchased by calling 734-667-2098 or by visiting http://www.westwindcos.com/balloon Checks, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover Card are accepted. Hot air balloon rides are scheduled May through October.

Engagement balloon flights are available all over the country anywhere balloons fly,” says Lorenz.

About Scott Lorenz
Scott Lorenz has been a commercial hot air balloon pilot since 1982, and has logged 1,475 + hours in-flight. Scott’s memorable ballooning experiences include: Flying over Niagara Falls, The Great Wall of China, Disney World, the Olympics in Calgary, St. Wolfgang, Austria, Saga, Japan, the Grand Prix in Spain, co-piloting one of two balloons for Mike Howard’s Guinness World Record ‘balloon walk’ flight at 19,000 feet, a 20 hour-361 mile Gas Balloon flight with Gordon Boring and handling media relations for Kevin Uliassi's Round the World balloon flights.

App Developers - Use Facebook to Market Your iPhone or Android Apps

Using social media outlets to market your iPhone or Android app is imperative. One of the most important is Facebook because users are one click away from downloading your app. Creating a Facebook Fan Page allows the people who use your app to easily share with their networks. Users will be able to list your app on their info pages, interact with you, the app creator, other fans on the Fan Page wall, and more.

Plymouth, Michigan, August 10, 2011 -- iPhone and Android app developers know that using social media outlets to market their app is imperative. “One of the most important is Facebook because users are one click away from downloading your app,” says iPhone app marketer Scott Lorenz. “Using Facebook for iPhone app marketing is both effective and practically free. What’s not to like?” Lorenz has created a six step method to simplify the process. “Follow these steps,” says Lorenz, “and you'll be well on your way to more downloads.”

STEP 1. Create a “Fan Page” for your app
What is the first thing you do after checking out a cool app on your iPhone? You tell people about it! Creating a Facebook Fan Page allows the people who use your app to easily share with their networks the great app they just used and provides you with a free, “mini website” to interact with the fans of your app.

Go to Facebook, scroll to the bottom of the page. Select ‘Create a Page’ then select “Brand or Product” then “Electronics” or “Games/Toys” or “Software” and follow the step-by-step instructions to begin completing your page. Once you're done, users will be able to list your app on their info pages, interact with you, the app creator, and other fans on the Fan Page wall, and share the link with their friends through email and other social networking sites.

One important option to take advantage of is giving your page a username with the name of your app, after you reach 25 followers you'll be able to do so. Plus, your link looks much cleaner.

STEP 2. Keep your page updated
Once you've created your page, you need to keep it up to date with fresh content. It’s standard practice to post three to four times a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays having the highest click through rates) being conscious not to “overshare” or fans will unsubscribe from your page.

When fans post on your wall, be sure to respond to them in a timely fashion and respond to their comment or question. Facebook is a conversation and that means both parties have to participate.

STEP 3. Give your fans content they can't get anywhere else
You've accumulated some fans, now you need to keep them coming back. Providing them with content they can't find anywhere else rewards them for liking your page and can help you at the same time.

You can take screen shots of your app in action and post the photos to your Fan Page. This will give fans a glimpse into your app, perhaps into a higher level if it is a game or a function that is available that is unique to your app. In the “discussions” section, you will be able to keep your fans up to date on whatever it is that you are working on. You simply click the “discussions” option, select “start new topic,” fill out the topic title and then write a post about it. Your fans will be free to read and reply to all posts on the discussion board.

STEP 4. “Like” it
A page allows people to “like” your iPhone app’s page. A fun fact is that when people “like” your page, it helps in your search engine rank. Google figures that if people are “liking” your page, it must be pretty good and worth seeing. One note about liking things; make sure that you click around to other app’s pages and “like” them. Odds are, they'll “like” you right back.

The Fan Page for the iPhone app Angry Birds is a great example of how fans can show their appreciation and love for an app.

STEP 5. Keep your fans in the know
Once you start to rack up fans of your iPhone app, it is a nice gesture to keep them informed of any technological updates of your app. For example, Zombie Farm updated it’s Fan Page status to say, “iPad version update coming this weekend!” to let fans know the app’s expansion from iPhone to iPad.

Tap Fish, a virtual aquarium, informed fans via Facebook Fan Page that they could add a newly released salamander to their tanks.

People like to remain informed. More importantly, people will keep checking your page not only because of your entertaining app, but also to see if there are any updates from the technological side of things. Keeping your fans informed will help maintain your current fans, keep them happy, and produce more fans.

Step 6. Badge and advertise
To let the public know you've created this fantastic Facebook page for your iPhone app, be sure to add a Facebook badge somewhere on your blog or website so people can click right over to it. Finally, consider utilizing Facebook's advertising space. You can buy ad space on Facebook. You'll be able to create your own custom advertisement by filling out the URL, title, and body of your ad. Then, you just have to add a photo, be sure to use a thumbnail of your app icon as the photo, and preview. Facebook ads allow you to choose your audience by age, sex, location, interests, even by place of employment. You'll also be informed how many are in each demographic, which will allow you to target your advertisements to the exact market you want to reach. Facebook allows you to set a daily budget and you can also adjust it at any time, so you won't break the bank.

So, be sure to hop on over to your Facebook account and set up a page for your iPhone app. It is an effective way to market your creation and it will allow you to connect with your fans.

New Diet Book describes Why Carbohydrates make us Fat

New York, NY, USA - August 09, 2011 -- All carbohydrates, complex or simple are converted to blood sugar. The greater the amount consumed, the higher blood sugar will be raised. Refined carbohydrates like sugar or white bread are converted and absorbed more quickly. Complex carbohydrates like grains are converted more slowly but still end up elevating blood sugar to high levels.

Refined carbohydrate products and grains are very low in moisture content and therefore are a concentrated source. “It really doesn't take much concentrated carbohydrate to elevate blood sugar high enough to trigger an insulin release (a much smaller amount than most people imagine),” explains Tom Griesel, co-author of the new book, Turbocharged (BSH, 2011).

When sugar is consumed along with fat, which is a common refined food combo, it becomes a slow release situation in which insulin remains elevated over an extended period of time, which stresses cell receptors and eventually leads to insulin resistance over time. “It should be noted that sugar/fat combinations are not found in any natural food source and our bodies are not adapted to handle them,” says Tom.

For hundreds of thousands of years during our evolution, humans did not have any source of concentrated carbohydrates (except perhaps the rare honey find) until the advent of agriculture and grain cultivation. “Our bodies have not adapted to this change so it doesn't take much to overload our system with too much blood sugar. Grains and grain products also are very low in nutrients compared to fruits, vegetables, nuts seeds, eggs or animal protein so other than supplying calories, they are not an optimal food choice” adds Griesel. FRA welcomes DR Congo forestry protection decision

Forestry Research Associates (FRA) is welcoming the decision by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to entrust the management of a large section of its forest land to a Canadian company.

Seattle, United States - August 07, 2010 -- Forestry Research Associates (FRA) is welcoming the decision by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to entrust the management of a large section of its forest land to a Canadian company.

Ecosystem Restoration Associates (ERA) will take control of the project, which will involve the management and protection of a 300,000-hectare site in the Mai-Ndombe forest, in western Bandundu province. FRA, a research and analysis consultancy, said the move will help the African nation prevent deforestation under the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation (REDD+) program.

The government’s Environment Minister, Jose Endundo, said, "For us, it's about containing deforestation, restoring the forests and making this country a green country in the interest of the international community.”

Congo is of vital importance to the REDD+ efforts as it is home to 50 per cent of Africa’s forested land. The ERA is planning to try to teach local people about the sustainable management approaches that can help them to make a living from the forests while maintaining them for future generations and for their carbon capture capabilities.

ERA’s representative for Africa, John Kendall, said that the decision made by the DRC’s government will help to make a clear statement about its credibility and commitment to playing its part in the protection of the forests and the prevention of climate change.

FRA's analysis partner, Peter Collins, said, “We very much welcome the DRC’s decision to bring in Canada’s ERA to handle the section of woodland area within the Mai-Ndombe forest.”

He continued, “It is vital that countries with large areas of forested land take serious measures to help put an end to deforestation and illegal logging that could have major repercussions for the planet. The REDD+ scheme is providing financial incentives to help developing countries to look after their forests and protect them for the benefit of the planet as a whole."

FRA also supports managed forestry projects in other emerging economies, like Brazil, where firms like Greenwood Management are bringing in foreign investment to help provide alternatives to native timber and forestry products.
