Now could be great time for timber investors, claims FRA

FRA said that now is a great time to have investments in forestry as the construction industry in the US begins to recover from its long slump.

Seattle, United States, January 24, 2012 -- Forestry Research Associates (FRA) said that now is a great time to have investments in forestry as the construction industry in the US begins to recover from its long slump.

A recent report in Zacks Investment Research said that recent figures suggest that 2012 could be the year that the construction industry grows again. This is great news for those who own trees or have cash invested in to timber-based exchange traded funds, who have been hanging on to their assets in recent years. Many investors would have avoided selling their timber assets over the past couple of years due to the slowing demand in the construction industry. As a result, their trees will be even larger now and will be worth more as a result.

This is the great selling point for timber investments,” stated FRA’s analysis partner, Pete Collins. He added, “If timber prices look anything less than strong, investors can simply hold onto their assets and wait until the prices increase. In the meantime, their assets grow further and are worth more when they finally choose to sell.”

The report by Zacks also claims that forestry has an extremely low correlation with traditional asset classes and therefore, provides an extremely effective way to diversify a portfolio. FRA claims that more and more investors are turning to alternative asset classes, such as timber, to help them to spread the risk within their investment portfolio.

Zacks' report talks about direct investment routes, such as through plantation schemes like the one run by Greenwood Management in Brazil, where investors buy up pieces of plantation land and receive returns based on the cyclical sale of timber assets. It also talked about investing in funds that are based on timber, which can offer a slightly more risky option for those interested in putting some of their cash in forestry.

AAA welcomes New Rare Coin Fund

A new alternative investment fund, which focuses on rare coins, has been welcomed by AAA.

Boston, MA, USA, January 24, 2012 -- A new alternative investment fund, which focuses on rare coins, has been welcomed by Alternative Asset Analysis, an alternative investment advocacy group.

The fund is being launched by several rare coin enthusiasts, together with a wall street fund manager, who together have formed Certified Assets Management International (CAMI) in order to launch their rare coin product.

The fund managers will help investors to manage their coin and precious metal purchases and will also launch a fund worth $250 million, invested in the market. One of the experts involved in the fund is Robert L Higgins, who managed a rare coin fund in the past, successfully generating returns of 17 per cent. Higgins told press: "Certified Assets Management has a proven track record of over a decade of successful rare coin funds management.”

He added, “This is an excellent time for the numismatic market and Wall Street to do it the right way.”

AAA’s analysis partner, Anthony Johnson agree with Higgins, arguing that now was a great time to launch alternative funds as the appetite for alternatives was enormous thanks to the ongoing volatility of the stock markets.

Another spokesperson for CAMI explained, "The investment community has a need for alternative investments that are truly uncorrelated with traditional investments. Using rare coins as an asset class and investment vehicle provides an opportunity for investors to diversify their investment portfolios.”

AAA is a supporter of alternative investments as a way to direct investment cash into ethical and more productive directions, while offering investors the chance of diversification and strong returns. Mr Johnson added, “We are mainly on the side of environmentally and socially responsible investments, such as the forestry plantation scheme offered by firms like Greenwood Management in Brazil.”

However,” added Johnson, “ethics and profits do not have to be mutually exclusive."

Liberty Hill, TX, January 23, 2012 -- Force Production Inc. announced today the introduction a their new custom barrel line for 10-22 rifle barrels. The Honeycombed Lightening System removes weight from the barrel and improves performance.

FPL's Turkey Point Plant to Help Power Economic Recovery in Miami-Dade County

As 5,000 new contractors begin work at FPL's Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, local officials herald a revved up economy powered by clean, affordable energy and the people who help FPL create it at one of the company's two nuclear power plants.

Juno Beach, FL, January 21, 2012 -- As 5,000 new contractors begin work at FPL's Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, local officials herald a revved up economy powered by clean, affordable energy and the people who help FPL create it at one of the company's two nuclear power plants.

FPL has brought in thousands of new temporary, contract, and permanent workers to Turkey Point to upgrade the plant. They will perform what's called a "nuclear uprate" - enhancing equipment to improve the plant's efficiency. The project has created 5,000 temporary jobs for workers who are slated to pump an additional $11 million into the local economy each month.

This uprate is the type of project that will have long-term positive effects for our economic recovery, which is the reason I am here today,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez. “Collectively the new workers will spend close to $11 million per month in the local economy and that means they're staying in local homes and hotels, and that means they're eating at restaurants owned by our neighbors, and that’s exactly the kind of economic development and growth we need during these times in Miami-Dade County.”

This project will serve as an economic engine - driving an influx of new dollars into the local economy and generating work for 5,000 people in a region where unemployment is higher than average.

The project is already having a positive impact - I've gotten a job and it looks like my husband may be fortunate enough to be offered a job here as well,” said new FPL employee Michelle Cruz. “It’s definitely a great thing for us.”

What’s more, the plant uprates and improvements will put more money in customers' pockets, too.

Investments like those FPL is making at Turkey Point keep FPL’s residential customer bills the lowest in the state of Florida and a full 25 percent below the national average. In fact, our investments in Turkey Point and a similar plant in St. Lucie County are expected to save our customers more than $4.8 billion compared to fossil fuel costs over the projects’ lifetimes,” said Pamela Rauch, FPL vice president of development and external affairs.

At Turkey Point, FPL is not just working towards a healthy economy, but is also working to support a healthy environment. With upgrades and replacements implemented, the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant will reap an additional 15 percent capacity, equivalent to the annual usage of approximately 271,000 residents. The added capacity for clean, renewable energy will reduce CO2 emissions by an estimated 30 million tons - as much as removing 180,000 cars off the road annually.

FlashPark announces response to Welsh parking ticket complaint

FlashPark has reacted swiftly to language problems concerning a parking ticket issued in the English language in Wales.

London, UK, January 20, 2012 -- Private parking enforcement agency FlashPark has reacted swiftly to language problems concerning a parking ticket issued in the English language in Wales.

Noel Jones, 54, and his daughter Bethan, 26, were handed the ticket after using the car park at Penrhyndeudraeth village Memorial Hall. The pair, whose first language is Welsh, stated they feel it is unfair that their ticket - along with the signs around the car park - are displayed in English and have refused to pay until they receive acknowledgement of the parking transgression in their native Welsh.

Many of the signs in the area surrounding the hall are provided in both Welsh and English. But according to reports from the Memorial Hall committee, there had previously been Welsh signs in place in the car park but they had been vandalised.

FlashPark is in the process of investigating the legalities of language when it comes to parking notices. But as a message of fair play, Costas Constantino, a spokesman for FlashPark, confirmed that the group will be issuing a translation of the ticket in Welsh to be posted to the pair as soon as possible.

Mr Constantino stated: “This will be a translation to Welsh of the parking ticket originally sent received, We are happy to do the same for other motorists that face the same situation. At the end of the translation we will include some of the top tips on how to save money when motoring.

FlashPark will always act in good faith in any dispute which will reflects the rights of the landowner and motorist.”

Jobosabe.com, The Trusted Friend Employment Network Looking for Early Adopters

Locally focused social networking site for job seekers is offering incentives for people willing to test-drive their site.

Austin, Texas, January 19, 2012 -- Jobosabe.com, (pronounced jah-bo-sah-be) is going into beta this week and looking for job seekers who would like to test drive their new platform. The locally based social Jobworking “Talent Community” is going live shortly in major markets around the US. Partnering with major newspapers, the website will deliver a social networking experience that is primarily focused on local jobs, local employers and local candidates.

Traditional Social Networking sites are large, cumbersome and nationally/globally focused. Many personal profiles contain information and photos that may not shine the brightest light on your employment credentials. Innocent things can often be misread by prospective employers and may cost you your next job. Trouble is, you won't even know it. You just won't get the job.

One of the biggest challenges for job seekers is that their social networking life online can also be a major distraction or hindrance during a job search. Employers troll major Social Networking platforms looking for reasons to hire or not hire prospective candidates. Jobosabe.com is a place where you can direct employers to your profile and connect with other job seekers to share leads and ideas. It is totally business and employment based.” Noted Carl Braun, Jobosabe.com co-founder. “You can lock down your other Social Networking profiles to only trusted friends and use Jobosabe as your employment profile.” He added.

The first 1,000 Beta testers will be given a FREE resume review and guidance on how to find that next great job. A $99 value. You only need to go to Jobosabe.com, enroll and build out your employment profile. Early adopters will have a chance to create and administer “Talent Discussion Communities.” Employers will have a chance to create free “Opportunity Zones” and post jobs through Jobosabe.com or their local newspaper.

FRA claims Irish forestry investment is a 'good bet'

The sale of 20 forestry plantations in Ireland has received the backing of FRA, which supports investment in sustainable forestry projects around the world.

Seattle, United States, January 19, 2012 -- The sale of 20 forestry plantations in Ireland has received the backing of Forestry Research Associates (FRA), which supports investment in sustainable forestry projects around the world.

The research and analysis consultancy claims that the selling of 20 plantations across several counties in Ireland is a great opportunity for foreign investors, as the trees are currently at 50 per cent maturity and will grow further, generating returns.

An agent called DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is offering the 20 sites for sale or investment, at a cost of EUR 4,900 per hectare, which totals some EUR 4.5 million for the entire 371-hectare portfolio. The forest areas are located in eight counties, including County Clare and Leitrim, which has three and seven plantations each, respectively.

FRA’s analysis partner, Peter Collins, said the forestry plantations in question have sensibly managed the age range of the trees to maximise the continual maturity that will ensure cash keeps being generated for the investors.

This is also central to the sustainability of a managed forest and will ensure that forests are productive, while remaining standing for years to come if managed properly,” explained Mr Collins.

He added “We think this opportunity is a solid one for those looking to invest in forestry, as the direct investment model will help to provide investors with genuine diversity within their portfolio, which will protect them from the volatilities of the equity markets.”

FRA supports other similar plantation schemes in developing countries where these kinds of projects can help to reduce destruction of the local forests. Greenwood Management’s plantation schemes in Brazil, for example, plant non-native timbers, which grow quickly and can be used in the production of charcoal for the steel industry. FRA claims that this reduces the deforestation of native forests to meet the demand for charcoal from the booming steel market.

BusinessVibes states the Challenges for Marketers in the year 2012

Guidelines helping you to become successful marketer in this tough 2012.

London, UK, January 18, 2012 -- Looking at the current macroeconomic situation of the world it is hard to count on unexpected boom for many companies. Does it mean that marketers should stay behind their desks and calmly wait for better times? Couldn't be more far away from the truth! Maybe in old good times marketers were the ones unhurriedly sitting in their dark corners spending long months on planning one campaign, checking huge databases of clients and organising conferences. It is hard for us to tell, but those times are over. Businesses run nowadays are much more difficult for marketers. In consequences of not promising economic indicators a lot of companies re-consider their costs and spending, which may even lead to some personnel reductions. Below you will find some guidelines helping you to become successful marketer in this tough 2012.

First of all, be fragile for changes and willing to change, success of marketing depends nowadays on how fast will you react on changing needs of customers and how flexible will you be to change your routine of work and apply new tools and ideas.

Mix disciplines, remember that digital marketing today is really important and do not forget about traditional ways of promotion. Be ready to plan strategies including both ways of advertising in one time. Follow new platforms; get yourself included in social media life.

Analyze your actions - whatever you do, do not forget to spend some time on checking the results. Ensuring yourself that action taken by you makes you closer to the success is the simplest and fastest way to avoid spending time on pointless activities. What is more - Act wisely! Be always ready to justify your strategy and all the steps you have taken.

Like and be liked - marketing today is complex. To be successful it needs to include cooperation of several departments in the company starting from sales, going through IT ending on customer service. Respect other departments’ schedule, learn how to communicate with them.

Believe in what you are doing. You need to become the most faithful ambassador of your brand. Believe in your organization mission and understand what are they doing and why. And what is even more important - Never, but never give up - hard times may slow down your campaigns, make clients less interested. Keep on checking the results, re-consider and change your actions if necessary, but do not stop in half way.

Keep learning. Marketing, especially the digital one is developing quickly. New tools are being invented on a daily basis; new networking sites are invented to help you develop your business. Join those networking platforms (http://www.businessvibes.com) where you can directly search for suppliers, clients or partners. Stay interested and curious. The business technology will run faster, you need to follow it quickly if you don't want to get lost.

Nobody said it was easy, but if you succeed in this difficult 2012 you would have no problems to be the best marketer in any other following year. Challenge is definitely worth to take.

IAPAM Announces NEW March 2012 Symposium Dates - March 3-4

Over 950 physicians (MDs, DOs, NPs and PAs), as well as their accompanying medspa managers, registered nurses, and assistants, have attended the IAPAM’s weekend Aesthetic Medicine Symposiums and Friday hCG Physician Training sessions. There are over 15,000 patients who have successfully lost weight on the IAPAM’s Exclusive hCG Protocol and under the supervision of IAPAM trained doctors. To meet this continually growing demand for expert training in botox ® and the other minimally-invasive treatments, as well as hCG for weight loss, the IAPAM announces the addition of NEW March 2012 dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposiums with Botox ® training, and hCG Training programs: March 2 and March 3&4, 2012.

3. How to perform aesthetic patient consultations.
4. How to add the most profitable cosmetic injectable procedures, including: Botox ®, and dermal fillers (i.e. Juvederm ®, Restylane ®, and Perlane ®), chemical peels, and physician directed skin care.

Rosendin Electric Begins Construction of Martin Luther King Junior High School in Pittsburgh

New Design-Build Project Latest in Rosendin Electric's Growing List of Bay Area Public Works Projects.

PITTSBURGH, Calif. (January 17, 2012) -- Rosendin Electric (http://www.rosendin.com), one of the nation’s largest private electrical contractors and a 100% employee-owned company, today announced the start of construction on the new Martin Luther King Junior High School.

The new Pittsburgh Unified School District middle school is being built by Webcor Builders and Rosendin Electric holds the $3.3 million design-build electrical contract, which includes telecommunications, audio-visual wiring, fire alarm, and the infrastructure for a later photovoltaic installation. The new Martin Luther King Junior High School project also includes construction of an 87,000-square-foot building accommodating 32 classrooms, 5,000 square feet of administrative offices, a 7,000-square-foot cafeteria, a 5,000-square-foot library, a gymnasium/common room with 12,000 square feet, and playfields. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in August 2012.

Included in the project specifications are the latest audio-visual and lighting features, including state-of-the-art smart controls for each classroom that are linked to the AV system to automatically dim the lights when necessary, or automatically lower audio volume to accommodate public announcements. The contract also calls for wiring the entire school for data access.

We love these local contracts, since our electricians often live and work in the school district,” said Todd Mazza, Division Manager for Rosendin Electric. “The Martin Luther King Junior High School is the kind of project that allows Rosendin Electric to demonstrate our design-build expertise and best practices, and make a contribution to the local community as well.”
