Author pursues Buddy Holly’s continuing impact on music and the lives of fans

Lake Forest, IL, January 11, 2011 -- Rock-and-roll pioneer Buddy Holly was just a kid from Lubbock, Texas, sporting black horn-rimmed glasses. Now, more than five decades after his tragic death, he and his music still affect lives around the world. The Iowa plane crash that killed him, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens in 1959 is one of the most memorable plane crashes in history.

Gary W. Moore, the award-winning author of Playing with the Enemy, was born in 1954 but was not a fan of rock music. He knew nothing of Buddy Holly until he attended a tribute to him and his music by musician John Mueller in 2009. He was moved by the performance and astonished to learn that thousands of people of all ages around the globe are dedicated fans.

Hey Buddy: In Pursuit of Buddy Holly, My New Buddy John, and My Lost Decade of Music
is Gary Moore’s chronicle of his personal journey to discover more about Buddy’s talent and character, his influence on generations of rock musicians, and the times in which he lived. He interviews people who were there the day of the crash, Buddy’s personal friends and family members, celebrities, and current-day Buddy enthusiasts. Hey Buddy examines our culture and how the young man from Lubbock brought us from where we were five decades ago to where we are today.

Along the way Moore discovers new information about the doomed charter flight that took off in bad weather with an inexperienced 21-year-old pilot. Himself a pilot, Moore and an aviation crash expert recreate the short flight. They conclude that the National Transportation Safety Board should re-open the crash investigation based on claims from the owners of the plane that the truth behind what happened that fateful night has never been told.

International Efforts for a Society Free of AIDS: HIV Reservoirs Control

Toulon, IL, January 07, 2010 -- HIV and Aids have been around for 3 decades and yet, few diseases have ever had such a profound effect: it has taken the lives of millions of people and hit virtually every nation in the world. In addition, there is still no cure and Doctors and researcher are still fighting to create a society without AIDS.

All over the globe teams of scientists are actually dedicating their time and resources to finding a way to tackle HIV reservoirs as the virus survives hidden in these sanctuary sites despite therapy. What is it about this particular disease that makes it so difficult to cure?

HIV is impossible to eradicate because it establishes reservoirs. Although the disease can be slowed with antiretroviral therapy, HIV cannot be totally eradicated from the body. One of the main reasons is that HIV hides from drugs and immune surveillance in different organs and regions of the body, such as the brain and the gut. Doctors are not even yet able to determine and identify all the places where the disease can hide. HIV is also established in a dormant state in some reservoir cells where it can last for decades.

The ability of HIV to hide and remain silent makes some people wonder if the disease will ever truly be "cured" one day.  Even if a sterilizing cure, i.e. getting rid of the virus in an infected individual, seems currently out of reach, other strategies of ‘control’ are on the horizon. First, by treating HIV infection very early, at the time of acute infection, up to 15% of patients can sustain HIV replication control after therapy is subsequently stopped. HIV is still present in these patients but remains silent, causing no harm, despite discontinuation of antiretroviral drugs. Therefore, they have been transformed in “Elite Controllers”, these rare cases of HIV infection (less than 1% of infected individuals) where the body itself is able to control the virus without medication. Then, some researchers are testing strategies to “purge” the reservoir. They give antiretrovirals to the patient to block HIV replication, but also other molecules able to stimulate HIV replication…in the cells where the virus is dormant. They hope to bring these cells to be destroyed or to die due to HIV expression, whereas healthy cells are protected by antiretrovirals.

To hasten progress in HIV reservoirs cure or control, a coordination strategy is urgently needed. In that way, we launched in 2003 an international HIV reservoirs workshop, dedicated to researchers, which also is a think tank on this topic. New scientific results relevant to tackling HIV persistence were presented at the second workshop in 2005, more clinical results were shown at the following editions in 2007 and 2009.

Whether eradicating the virus (HIV sterilizing cure) or achieving long-term remission in the absence of continued therapy (HIV functional cure) will be possible one day remains currently unknown. The categories of the workshop sessions span from animal models, identifying the locations of HIV reservoirs in the body, the mechanisms of viral persistence, to potential therapeutic interventions and methods to evaluate their impact.

In 2007 and 2009 we were joined in our fight against HIV reservoirs by institutional support, both from the NIH (American National Institute of Health) and the ANRS (French Agency for AIDS Research). The workshop was also accredited by the Massachusetts School of Medicine. The 2011 HIV reservoirs workshop will be held in December in Saint Martin.

Synergy By Jasmine Yoga, gives the edge to choose Romantic Valentine's Day Ideas near Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA, January 07, 2010 -- Are considering a yoga retreat, spiritual retreat or a romantic couples retreat? You have allocated the time and money and are committed to a meaningful experience. How do you know what to expect from your upcoming retreat? A little forethought, research and proper planning can make your retreat a profound life experience a la  Eat, Pray, Love.

A little online research will show that there are terrific retreats all over the globe. The abundance of differing techniques, varied locations and contrasting practices may be a bit overwhelming. Here is a checklist of considerations that might help finalize your choice, according to Jasmine Kaloudis, Yoga Retreat Leader near Philadelphia.

1. Instruction - Just as you know there are many forms of yoga, you also know each variation has a different instructional style. Make sure the teaching style at your retreat is to your liking and within you ability.

2. Goals - Make sure you understand the goals of the yoga retreat you will be engaging and that their goals match well with your personal aspirations. Again, research is the key. When setting your goals, think both long-term benefit and short-term benefit. If the program does not give you a sense of these benefits, speak to a coordinator.

3.  Facility - Get an understanding of the program's facility and how the yoga program utilizes the retreat's facilities. Practical ramifications of this information may affect how you will dress and therefore the clothes you need to pack. Are you looking for something luxurious like Miraval or would something spartan, clean and more budget-friendly like Kripalu serve your needs?

4.  Experience - Cross-reference your own research with the first hand or word-of-mouth experiences of previous attendees. Don't be afraid to ask if they would return or what their progress has been since visiting the retreat. Do a google search for reviews of the retreat or ask if you can speak with someone who experienced the retreat.

5. Travel - Just as you plan your itinerary, make sure there are no holes in your travel plans. Some retreats are in outlying areas. Verify and confirm all return-trip information weeks before departing. Check the weather as well before you are traveling. Investigate the cancellation policy in case of inclement weather.

6.  Budget - Your budget should include all costs associated with travel and the yoga retreat.. Be especially clear about meal and travel provisions. It is safe to say that every yoga retreat has its own standards. Are extras such as spa treatments, mats, blocks and other classes included or are they extra?

7. Experience - Many yoga retreats cater to practitioners of different levels. Some retreats are prone to accept beginning students while others prohibit the beginner. Most important is matching your experience level with the program's stated experience levels. Are you looking to do an intensive program with 6-8 hours of yoga a day or would 2-3 hours be your pace? Find our the schedule before hand if you can.

Biotage Announces New Methods for the Extraction of Key Compounds for Clinical, Environmental and Forensic Applications

Charlotte, North Carolina USA, January 7, 2011 -- Biotage® (STO: BIOT), a leading supplier of tools and technology for analytical and medicinal chemistry, introduced a new series of application notes utilizing the industry-standard RapidTrace® SPE Workstation. These methods are now available at www.biotage.com. New applications include extractions from plasma, urine and whole blood, typically assayed in clinical and forensic protocols. Additionally, a new soil analysis method for dioxins and furans joins the presently available EPH protocols from Biotage.

“By offering SPE methods ready for use on the RapidTrace, labs are better able to quickly achieve consistent solid phase extraction results that meet industry needs for low to high throughput applications” says Anna-Karin Wihlborg, Biotage Product Manager. “These new methods further strengthen our portfolio of support illustrate that Biotage is committed to providing the tools our customers need to achieve greater results.”

The RapidTrace Workstation is the gold standard for efficient and reliable solid phase extraction from low to high throughput applications. Up to 10 RapidTrace Modules can be controlled simultaneously by one computer allowing for a scalable solution.

RapidTrace users can receive free software updates with the new methods pre-loaded by contacting a Biotage Representative. The RapidTrace utilizes effortless point-and-click software allowing for simple execution of pre-loaded methods as well as easy custom method set-up and editing.

Newly Released Methods for RapidTrace:

-Extraction of Vitamin D from Plasma Using ISOLUTE - This method allows extraction of the main active Vitamin D metabolites; 25-hydroxy-vitamin D and 1a, 25-dihydroxy-vitamin D. Deficiency can result in various disorders including osteoporosis, liver and kidney problems to increased risk of various cancers and multiple sclerosis, making this compound extremely clinically relevant.

-Extraction of the Cocaine Metabolite, Benzoylecgonine from Urine using ISOLUTE HCX - Due to short half life of cocaine, the screening for the presence of cocaine in urine is majorly accomplished via the major metabolite of cocaine; Benzoylecgonine. It allows a profile of use to be constructed and can be used to determine how long ago from the time of testing the cocaine was administered.

-Extraction of Tricyclic Antidepressants from Whole Blood Using ISOLUTE HCX Columns - Except for the use of Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) to treat depressive disorders, TCA’s have been found to have significant efficacy in the treatment of sleep disorders, ADHD, IBS and pain management.

-Extraction of Basic Drugs of Abuse from Biological Fluids using ISOLUTE HCX - The typical range of drugs screened using this generic method are Cocaine, D3 -Cocaine , Benzoylecgonine-TMS, D3-Benzoylegonine-TMS, Amphetamine, D5-Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Codeine, Morphine, Amitriptyline HCL, Nortriptyline HCL, Imipramine HCL, Desipramine HCL. These drugs represent a panel of the most significantly abused drugs as recommended by The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

-Extraction of Cyclosporine from Whole Blood Using ISOLUTE Columns - Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressant used in organ transplants to overcome rejection. Subsequent to an organ transplant, patients are tested at regular intervals for the presence of very low levels of the compound.

-Extraction of Environmental Contaminants Including Dioxins and Furans from Soil and Sediment Samples Using ISOLUTE NH2 – Dioxins and furans are a family of toxic chemicals. The levels of these chemicals in air, water and soil are constantly monitored through screening according to EPA guidelines, typical detection limits for these compounds in soil and sediments are 0.1 -1.0 parts per billion.

-Extraction of the Opiates, Morphine and Codeine from urine using ISOLUTE HCX - Morphine and codeine are two of the opiates analyzed in drugs of abuse testing, they are both on the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse Mental Health Service Administration) lists as drugs to be tested for workplace drug testing.

IAPAM's hCG Training Helps Physicians Meet Booming 2011 Weight Loss Demand

Las Vegas, NV, January 06, 2010 -- One of the perennially popular New Year’s Resolutions is to slim down, and reports from popular search engines predict that in 2011 "thousands, if not millions," of patients are already "searching for" support in dieting and losing weight. To help physicians meet their patients needs, the IAPAM's hCG Training offers the industry's most comprehensive education for adding hCG for weight loss to a medical practice.

A recent report found that, "in January 2010, [internet search] terms related to weight loss such as “calories”, “calorie counters”, and “Body Mass Index (BMI)” were searched twice as often as they were in November and December of 2009....and diet programs were also popular searches." Equally, "people who explicitly made resolutions were 10 times more likely to attain their goals than people who did not," but up to 64% of resolutions are abandoned by Valentine's Day. To help physicians meet the needs of these motivated patients, the IAPAM offers the industry's leading hCG for Weight Loss Training program. Attendees at the IAPAM's hCG Training learn from expert physicians, pharmacists and other specialists in the field of hCG and medical weight management, and are given all the tools, resources and instruction needed to profitably add hCG for Weight Loss to their practices right away.

The IAPAM's hCG Physician Weight Loss Training offers physicians a full-day of intensive education on the clinical best practices of hCG for weight loss, lipotropic injections and Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) programs. Physicians and their staff will learn the exclusive IAPAM's hCG Training Protocol (based on Dr. Simeons manuscript, Pounds and Inches.) The IAPAM's program gives physicians "everything they need to start offering medical weight loss programs to their patients immediately upon returning to their practices," emphasizes Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the IAPAM, and one of the IAPAM faculty instructors presenting at the IAPAM's hCG training. The IAPAM weight loss course includes:

A detailed overview of the exclusive IAPAM hCG Protocol & best practice.

Understanding of VLCD/LCD diet programs.
-Patient selection criteria.
-Common medical contraindications.
-Current FDA status & requirements.
-Legal/Insurance considerations and special access to hCG Medical Malpractice Insurance Program.

Finally, the IAPAM's full day hCG training is the only hCG medical weight loss training in North America approved for a special medical malpractice coverage for those who have attended and have been certified by the IAPAM.

In 2010, all of the IAPAM's hCG Medical Weight Management seminars sold out, so to register for the next session in 2011, please see http://www.aestheticmedicinesymposium.com/physician-hcg-weight-loss-training or contact the IAPAM at info (at) theiapam.com or 1-800-219-5108 ext 708.

Young Entrepreneur Launches New Interactive Celebrity Gossip Website

New York, NY – January 5, 2011 -- Bill “sniper” Williams a Web entrepreneur forced to leave his previous job because of cutbacks and outsourcing has decided to start “another” Celebrity gossip Website, www.ezazz.com. The website www.ezazz.com will feature lead stories from the arrest of teachers from around the country.

The “celebrities” on www.ezazz.com are the teachers arrested for various offenses. The public needs to know where sexual predators and offenders are teaching. The site is designed for all types of schools from colleges, technical schools, universities, and more.

The public is also welcome to submit stories, opinions and facts. Www.ezazz.com has a very liberal removal policy. If someone asks that an entry about them is removed, we will consider it if there is good reason. As previously stated, if www.ezazz.com has information on an arrest, (although innocent until proven guilty) that person will appear on the website.

Students are encouraged to be “journalist” and send in fresh news content from their home town areas. New categories can always be added or created on www.ezazz.com.

Students are also encouraged to report on good teachers, professors and schools. Www.ezazz.com will moderate all incoming stories and comments.

Unlike the “other” social media websites, www.ezazz.com allows a user to post anonymous or their real information to post.

Www.ezazz.com will not post stories that are defamatory in nature, but an author's opinion or a news story will post on the website.

Www.ezazz.com can be viewed as a site in between thedirty.com and tmz.com only we combine both the news article and opinions into separate categories.

For more information log on to www.ezazz.com.

HIV Reservoirs: Four main questions for 2011

Toulon, France, January 5, 2011 -- Despite effective antiretroviral combinations (HAART) capable of totally blocking the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) replication, this retrovirus persists life-long in patients due to the existence of hidden reservoirs. Major advances have been made since the first description of these HIV reservoirs in 1997 but a handful of fundamental questions remains to be elucidated before trying to find a cure.

Question 1: What is ‘the’ HIV Reservoir and Where is it Located?
The majority of the long-term HIV reservoir is situated in CD4+ T lymphocytes. These cells keep the memory of the immune system and are long-lived. We also know that within these CD4+ lymphocytes, the HIV reservoir is located in the central memory and transitional memory sub-populations. The HIV reservoir is 10 fold higher in the gut than in the blood and, in the brain, infected astrocytes could be the principal cells responsible for HIV persistence.
On the contrary, data on other HIV reservoir cells are scarce (Stem cells? Macrophages? Other sorts of cells?) as well as on different body compartments than the gut and the brain.

Question 2: What other factors than the virus play a role in the HIV Reservoir?
There are at least some recognized genetic factors and immune factors. For example, ‘elite controllers’ (patients controlling HIV replication themselves without the need of HAART) have a better CD8 antiviral response, leading to a kind of protection of the central memory CD4+ T cells, and this is associated with the presence of HLA B27 and B57 markers.
However, the exact nature of the immune response that could be able to control a very tiny HIV reservoir remains uncertain.

Question 3: What current HAART can do on the HIV reservoir?
The HIV reservoir is established very early, at the time of acute HIV infection. Treating HIV with HAART at the chronic stage of the disease is unable to decrease the HIV reservoir. However, it is highly likely that initiating HAART very early, at acute infection, limits the HIV reservoir size and the damages done to the immune system. Nevertheless, the clinical benefits of this early approach still need to be proven. It is also unknown if there is a threshold below which we can drive the HIV reservoir size and this one will not rekindle when HAART is discontinued. Finally, almost nothing is known on antiretroviral drugs activity in cells from different tissues.

Question 4: Can  the HIV Reservoir be targeted and how?
The most advanced theory is the HIV reservoir ‘purge’, i.e. activating latently infected cells in the presence of HAART to make them die or killed by the immune system. The main candidates are Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors (HDACi) and Interleukin-7 (IL-7). There are concerns that IL-7 would not be strong enough to reactivate the HIV reservoir, or even help expand it, and that HDACi could put the brain HIV reservoir beyond control. Preliminary results of small pilot studies testing these new strategies are urgently needed.

About us:
Since the year 2003 we are committed in HIV reservoirs research and organize every 2-year the reference scientific workshop on HIV reservoirs. The next edition in December 2011 will address all these issues and much more (http://www.hiv-workshop.com).

Physician-Employment-Opportunities.com Reports JOB INTERVIEW ANXIETY OVERLAPPING THE CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATION

Job interviews can be jittery. The level of professionalism and experience may differ but what is expected at the interview remains the same.

Amarillo, Texas, January 02, 2011 -- A physician job interview invitation is at first the best news anyone would receive the field of profession notwithstanding. For a majority, this feeling this fades away in time and anxiety kicks in. Many potential interviewees are faced with Job Interview Anxiety problems and this ends up being the main cause of job interview underperformance. In the current job setting where the most unexpected events happen, Job Interview Anxiety remains a problem, but many believe that it should be the least to worry about.

Having a strong mind is the key to success in anything. It takes mental confidence to take on anything challenging. The issue is simply being realistic and focused. For any physician, making it to an interview is a milestone and a recognizable one for that matter. Having come through academically vis-à-vis professionally is enough to secure a job as a physician. Similarly, credentials speak well for anyone regardless of the job interview.

Currently, physician job availabilities may come in form of announcements, or sudden vacancies. Many experienced physicians when asked, would rather go for the latter, considering the low number of applicants. This way the competition is lesser and the chances of securing a job are much higher as compared to group interviewing.

Personal evaluation will help in salary negotiation. It needs a bit of skill to ensure that both parties are comfortable with whatever is set. Similarly important are questions on insurance and liabilities in the negotiation process. It is paramount to clarify issues that may come up in the future.

Depending on the job, there may be different things that are required of the interviewee and knowing them prior to the interview process might help.

Mattsonmaps Launches Three Instances of TravelTools—A New Software for Administering Tools on Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) Websites

A small company in New Jersey has big plans as it launches three new instances of a one-of-a-kind software application to promote destinations worldwide. The software, TravelTools, is the first to integrate site tools like maps, events, itineraries, newsletters and advertisements.

Wenonah, NJ, January 02, 2011
-- With three initial installations and pending contracts for two others, including the national tourism site for Ghana, Mattsonmaps recently launched TravelTools—a one-of-a-kind software application that handles DMO website tools such as like maps, events, and itinerary-builders. In developing TravelTools, Mattsonmaps firmly believes that the industry needs a software application for common tools as much as it needs CMS applications for site content. Mattsonmaps plans on expanding the tool market horizontally in that its software represents economies that can be passed along to even small DMOs and organizations of all sizes that are feeling the crunch of a slowing global economy.

Given the importance and expense associated with managing content on typical DMO websites, the competitive environment for servicing the first of these needs—content management systems—is exceedingly fierce bringing widespread economies based on standardization, ease of use, and the streamlining of routine tasks.

Curiously, comprehensive solutions for web tools don't exist. As a default, organizations employ individual contractors or ask their own workers to code tool widgets on an installation-by-installation, solution-by-solution basis. To be fair, many of these solutions work like crazy, but issues of tool development, management and evolution have not benefited from essential "systems thinking approaches" in the same way that the industry has benefited from solutions surrounding web content and member management. Company President Mark Mattson wonders why. "If tools are essential to promoting a multi-billion dollar industry, it would make sense to have applications that are up to the task.

The company’s early success draws upon joint marketing research with the Rohrer Business School at Rowan University during which senior marketing students surveyed 650 destination marketing organizations and found that more than half wanted to upgrade their sites. Most of those surveyed wanted tools, but couldn't afford them or didn't know where to find solutions".

The survey also found that tool solutions are not easily understandable on a technological level and that they are expensive to develop, upgrade, and operate. 87% of the survey’s respondents paid outsiders to develop tool applications. Furthermore, many felt trapped by their purchases—feeling locked into "existing solutions" as their financial resources diminished and their needs for tools increased. Moreover, the existing approach to tool acquisition and development delivered varying levels of satisfaction in terms of product equity, agility, or standardized efficiencies. At the end of the day, 64% of respondents complained of a lack of manpower despite costly investments in tool technologies that were originally made for the very purpose of decreasing organizational workloads. 32% were also displeased with the technology that they had purchased and wanted "newer solutions" and 30% complained about pricing and customer service associated with their tool purchases or acquisitions.

Mattson adds, "Since tools can't be bought as unified software packages the way that "content management systems" can, the costs and inefficiencies associated with custom software development are far-reaching in terms of an organization’s ability to compete in a global climate of economic scarcity. Our gut feelings are supported by our survey responses."

Consider: 69% of respondents said that they knew what they needed, but lacked the resources to orchestrate better technology solutions in an online market that has exploded to 80% of the 120 million U.S. travelers in 2009. As a result, 60% of respondent websites lacked "truly interactive" mapping capacities, 53% lacked itinerary builders, and 70% were incapable of gathering important marketing data from visitors.

To bridge the gap between what destination marketers need and the limits imposed by "scarce resources" Mattson concluded that the destination marketing industry needed an integrated software solution for destination marketing tools. Furthermore, he has developed one called TravelTools— a proprietary web-based software application that monetizes, streamlines, and economizes the day-to-day operations of websites run by destination marketing organizations. Within 72 hours, Mattson’s team will install an easy-to-use, totally integrated software solution that manages a DMO site’s membership listings, attractions, events, visitor itineraries, maps, newsletters, sponsorships, advertisements, announcements, hot deals, marketing data, and conferences. Not only that, the system is totally integrated with client data and graphics. Finally, because the system is so economical, Mattson hopes to reach out to the hundreds of smaller DMOs that can't afford the expensive systems that their larger competitors can. "We want to democratize destination marketing by bringing world-class capacity to everyone. Smaller and larger organizations alike place the same value on tourism dollars. It’s not right that some destinations show well in the market while others are priced-out missing opportunities to promote great, smaller places.”

hCG for Weight Loss is Now Available in Calgary at Glenmore Healthcare

Glenmore Healthcare announces that it is first and only weight loss centre in Calgary to offer the IAPAM hCG Weight Loss program to Calgarians looking to lose weight in 2011. hCG has been used as a weight loss aid for over 50 years, and is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in the US and Canada. Now, under the supervision of a physician, this safe, effective weight loss program is available in Calgary at Glenmore Healthcare.

Calgary, Alberta, December 30, 2010
-- Glenmore Healthcare's exclusive hCG Weight Loss Program is a proven medical solution for optimal weight loss and management. Based upon the successful protocol originally developed in 1954 by Dr. Simeons, and detailed in his report, Pounds and Inches, the Glenmore Healthcare's hCG medically supervised weight loss program is built around a low calorie diet coupled with the administration of naturally occurring hormone, hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). Glenmore Healthcare follows the IAPAM's (International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine) hCG Weight Loss Protocol, which has been administered to over 4,000 patients around the world with consistent weight loss results. The IAPAM's hCG Weight Loss Program is the only endorsed hCG weight loss protocol available to physicians.

Taken through daily injections or under the tongue, hCG releases 1500-4000 calories a day from the abnormal fat stores. This is the stubborn fat that is locked around the stomach, thighs, upper arms, hips and buttocks. In combination with a very low calorie diet (500 calories per day), a person can expect an average weight loss of .5-1 lb a day. The body does not go into starvation mode, and hunger is significantly reduced. While following the hCG protocol, muscle mass and structural fat are protected, and weight regain after the program is complete is unlikely.

Glenmore Healthcare’s hCG for Weight Loss Program is monitored by a licensed physician who specializes in hCG for weight loss. Labs and vital statistics are recorded prior to starting the program. Patients at Glenmore Healthcare have accomplished phenomenal results, losing as much as 20 pounds in our 26 day program, and 35 pounds in our 43 day program. At the end of the program, we will test patient’s RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) with the same equipment as used on NBC's "The Biggest Loser."  We can now determine their new daily caloric intake required to maintain their new weight. Glenmore Healthcare is the only weight loss centre in Alberta with this new, state of the art equipment.

The Glenmore Healthcare hCG program allows patients to experience rapid weight loss in 40 days or less. Many patients will experience a 20-30lb weight reduction during the 26-43 day program. Not only will clients lose the weight, but many times they will also see a resetting of their metabolism, ensuring enduring weight loss. Glenmore Healthcare is the only medical facility in Calgary that is endorsed by the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (the IAPAM), and follows the industry leading “IAPAM hCG Protocol“ for weight loss. Glenmore Healthcare also serves as an official IAPAM Weight Loss research centre.

According to Obesity Reviews (the official journal of the International Association for the Study of Obesity), successful weight maintenance is optimally found when there is more initial weight loss, and using pharmaceutical hCG along with the hCG diet protocol gives patients very quick and dramatic weight loss. In addition, it has been found that weekly “Fat Burning” lipotropic injections also help promote the breakdown of fat within the liver. Glenmore Healthcare also offers these lipotropic injections as part of their medically supervised weight loss program.

It should be mentioned that hCG is only available through prescription. Homeopathic hCG is commonly available online, however it contains only trace amounts of hCG, if any. It is extremely dangerous to order any medications off the internet, as the origin of such products are unknown. Glenmore Healthcare uses 100% pure, pharmaceutical grade hCG.

The FDA states that, “HCG is a hormone extracted from the urine of pregnant women. It is approved by the FDA for the treatment of certain problems of the male reproductive system and in stimulating ovulation in women who have had difficulty becoming pregnant. No evidence has been presented, however, to substantiate claims for HCG as a weight-loss aid.” This is absolutely true if homeopathic hCG is taken, or the entire protocol is not followed. hCG taken on its own will not result in rapid, safe weight loss. It is very important that when a patient partakes of an hCG weight loss program, that they complete it under the supervision of a physician and follow the entire detailed protocol, as is done at Glenmore Heathcare.
