Jupiter, FL, USA (October 23, 2013) -- Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces their 3rd Annual "Countryside" Online Art Competition for the month of November 2013. 2D artists (including photography) from around the world are called upon to make online submissions to be judged for inclusion into the Gallery's December 2013 online group exhibition. The gallery encourages entries from artists, regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best interpretation of this theme by depicting rural living, rustic charm, the outdoors and pastoral scenes.

T5 Data Centers' T5@LA Data Center Facility Receives LEED(R) Silver Certification

USGCB Awards T5's Los Angeles Data Center Green Building Certification.

Los Angeles, CA, USA (October 22, 2013) -- T5 Data Centers, innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable and highly reliable computing support environments for any enterprise, today announced that the company's T5@LA facility has been granted LEED® Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This is the third T5 data center to be granted LEED certification and serves as another example of the company's commitment to maintaining environmentally responsible data centers.

T5@LA was fully commissioned in August 2012 and is a tier III-plus MEP design (mechanical, engineering, plumbing) purpose-built data center located in El Segundo near Los Angeles International Airport. The data center has a 40% greater energy efficiency than competing data centers in the region and has an optimal PUE. The building also is located adjacent to the Los Angeles Metro Rail and can be easily reached via mass transit. T5@LA has already started attracting tenants, including a major transportation service operator.

Santerno Introduces New PV Power Plant Controller that Provides Single Point of Control at Solar Power International

New Power Plant Controller Reduces Cost of PV System Management By Eliminating Need for Multiple Controllers and Includes Self-tuning POI to Accommodate International Grid Codes.

Chicago, USA (October 21, 2013) -- At Solar Power International this week, Santerno, the Carraro Group company that specializes in alternative energy electronics and industrial automation, will display its new Santerno PV Power Plant Controller (PPC). The Santerno PPC is a utility-scale solar power system controller that consolidates management of photovoltaic (PV) power plants, providing a single point of integrated control and monitoring.

Santerno developed its own power plant controller in order to reduce costs and expand management capability and control for its utility PV customers. The Santerno PPC is a complete control solution that provides a single access point for the plant supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) control systems, including all PV inverters, the data logger, and auxiliary services. This eliminates the need to integrate a separate management system for the solar power inverters.

The Santerno PPC also provides a single, self-tuned, modified proportional internal (PI) controller which operates at the plant level to make sure all the inverters match power grid code requirements. Unlike other systems, the Santerno PPC does not require the trial-and-error approach typically used to match standard PI regulators. The power parameters are set in advance using the plant data and the electrical characteristic data for the Point of Interconnection (POI) so it automatically matches international grid code requirements.

This enables the PV plant for Extended Power Capability or Flexible AC Transmission System functions. Sadie Hawkins Day allows single women to ask for what they want... and get it!

Sadie Hawkins Day, an American folk event, made its debut in Al Capp's Li'l Abner strip on November 15, 1937. Her father, Hekzebiah Hawkins, a prominent resident of Dogpatch, was even more worried about Sadie living at home for the rest of his life, so he decreed the first annual Sadie Hawkins Day, a foot race in which the unmarried gals pursued the town's bachelors, with matrimony the consequence. By the late 1930s the event had swept the nation and had a life of its own. Life magazine reported over 200 colleges holding Sadie Hawkins Day events in 1939, only two years after its inception.
